It's finally going to start over here.

The big question is who are cyclists going to blame if one of these cars clips them?

Many of us would benefit from this if there is a large uptake by women!

Nevermind women, I'd benefit from it when I'm driving up and down from Burnley!!

Will Audi's be programmed to drive two inches away from your back bumper?

yes and along with BMW's and Mercs they will also be pre-programmed to run red lights, give way to no one at roundabouts and park only on double yellow lines

What a complete and utter waste of time, money and technology. Start spending money on making roads safer and not looking like they`ve been cluster-bombed!

Really don't think London is a good place to begin testing - somewhere easier might be a good idea, like Milton Keynes.

As someone who drives in London every day I'm not sure how this is going to work. Believe it or not, there is a fair amount of cooperation amongst London drivers, at least in the suburbs. If you're in slow moving traffic you'd be expected to let someone in and you'd expect to be let in if you were approaching. This helps prevent total gridlock . There are also times when you need to think quickly and take advantage of a situation to get into another lane etc. I can't see how a self drive could make decisions like that.I appreciate that there would also be a manual setting but if you needed to use it half the time then what's the point?

Diesel and Goobs, there won't be any Audis Bmws and Mercs nor any Heineken. Not after the Brexit trade war sets in.

Wait until one of these things unintentionally (because they can't think) cuts up another motorist provoking a road rage incident. The offended driver only needs to retaliate and nudge the autonomous car, knocking it off its path and into a bus queue of schoolkids... and that will be the end of the self-driving car.
Think of the fun kids and vandals will have picking on these helpless motor vehicles too! The only way that self driving vehicles will ever work is on a closed road with chains of vehicles running together - but that's what we normally call trains...
