How much is Snodgrass worth?

I think that most of us agree that Snodgrass would be a great addition to our squad.

How much should we offer?

Probably got 3 or 4 good years left in him. I would go up to 12 million.

I have no doubt his club might accept 12m but would the player himself accept your top line of wage(£30,000 a week is it?).

12 million is a lot for a player that turns 30 this year, particularly for a club that tries to play it sensibly, financially.

I'd love to see Snodgrass at Burnley but would prefer us to spend money on players that have the potential to turn a profit, where possible. It's a more sensible approach considering the significant sums that are involved.

To counter that though, perhaps a player like Snodgrass could help to maintain our status for another season or two, or even more, in which case the sell on becomes irrelevant.

It's a tricky balance and we have to be careful because it could so easily all go wrong. The last thing I want is for us all to become blasé about 12 million quid signings and becoming all billy big time!

The highest amount a club is willing to pay for him and the lowest Hull will be willing to sell for.

I dont like to get to hung up on resale value. Particularly when staying up is worth 10s of millions. Also when you take into consideration wages and other costs profit on players is probably fairly modest at best in most cases. 10m to see us over the line and pretty much guarantee Hull going down is probably just about worth it. But a bad injury (like Ings he has a record of this) and all is wasted. He would be the wrong side of 30 if he had another acl before he came back.

Marney and Barton and the likes of Alexander before have shown that they can perform post 30. But theyre a different sort of player and didnt cost us 7 or 8 figures.

Anything over 8m and we are better looking elsewhere.

In any case I think Brady can offer as much now and more in a gew years. I think Grosicki is better than both now.

If the money, wages and contract were the same in order i would go

Grosicki
Brady
A N other
Snodgrass

Id love us to get Snodgrass but this season aside he has always been a steady if average player at this level. 30, A couple of relegations and less than 20% of his career in the premier league does not a 10m player make.

Great short little video on current football transfer fees. Really like the channel, they did a nice Wealth Gap comparison using us an ManU.

Your point is valid up the the 30K, I personally have no idea what our wage structure is, nor do I know if given the season we are having the board might look at raising the limit. Either way Dyche and the board will bring someone in otherwise there will be a meltdown of high proportions !

I think our limit is £35k, not that it's much more than £30k.
Joey said he turned down £35 and accepted £20 at Rangers.
Keane has been offered over £30k a week and turned it down according to rumours.

It's probably a bit closed-minded but his ridiculous dive earlier this season versus Palace put me off him. Would much rather have Brady who is 3 or 4 years younger.

If it's Snodgrass for say £10m or Brady for say £15m I'd take Brady all day long. As you said younger, probably first the framework better.

I'm a huge fan if Snoddy and have been for a while, I'd like them both, but Brady has just turned 25 this month whilst Snodgrass is 30 in September.

Add into that Snodgrass is at a PL club, they don't have to sell him so will overvalued him, also his wages are likely to be higher. Brady should cost less relative to his ability and age, and likely is on a more affordable wage that we can match or better.

£10m or £12m if he's a mate of Jeff's :)

If Snodgrass or Brady come in,I would expect that Boyd is moving out

Boyd as not been offered a new contract and must be worth 3 million, what we payed for him.

Because of his age no more than 7, that said due to his ability, and Hulls predicament. I wouldn't sell him for that if he was already on board.
I suppose it depends on whether Silva wants to raise the money to buy some new players.

Boyd's contribution will be fully recognised when he is no longer here. His contribution in the 1-0 win over Southampton was immense, Dyche doesn't often single out individuals for praise but he did after that game and rightly so. Very much an unsung hero, yes he has poor games too, but he's a vital cog in what we have achieved this season.

My point being that any replacement needs to have similar work rate as well as ability.

Yes, not easy to find players who are not only better but who will fit the system and also be realistic options.

I always thought James Milner would be excellent for us - definitely a Dyche type player. But alas, not a realistic target!

In the present market, snotty is worth around 20-25m- not saying he's worth this.

His value to Hull is probably at least double that unless they have already accepted relegation

We can't afford his wages in any case - and Brady is a better option

He is not involved this weekend. Has picked up a muscle injury, apparently..

Personally I wouldn't go above £10m for him as he won't have any re sale value.

West Ham opened their bidding at 3m so I can't see it going past 12.

Not sure they had much chance of any points at Stamford Bridge with or without Snodgrass.

Probably not. The best chance they had was Snodgrass diving to win a pen.

Boyd has had far more good games than poor , Snodgrass not that much of an upgrade , Brady would be much better .

I understand the reservations but I think he is a real quality player that we should actively persue.

Lets offer 10 million. 30,000 a week and a three year contract.

Might get 3 million for Boyd in a part exchange deal?

Snodgrass is definitely an upgrade on our wide men in my opinion....but he is a different type of player. Much more creative and great from a deadball.

That does not mean we have to get rid of Boyd or anyone else necessarily - we need competition and a great squad. The way Boyd is playing at the moment he deserves another contract - but no more than 2 years.

Always said the same. If there was a stereottpical Dyche players its milner.

Don't think Snodgrass is worth more than 10m nor is he likely to want
less than 40k wages especially if he's on that or more at Hull.

More importantly not sure Hull will wish to sell unless it's silly money 12m+
They've already sold Livermore to WBA for 10m so can't see then off loading
Snodgrass unless they've resigned themselves to going down
and rebuilding from there or have 2 or 3 players lined to bring in.

Selling two of your best players just doesn't sound terribly wise but then they've
got a funny Chairman who may have decided to cash in and run even though, I believe, they're still up for sale.

Can you imagine Burnley selling say Keane and Hendrick or Gray?

Feel sorry for Hull fans. They must be wondering what's going on.
