Are any of our targets going to sign?

As far as I can remember we've lodged bids for a Japanese/Italian fullback from Juventus, another fullback from Leeds, a centre back from Barnsley, Snodgrass from Hull and Brady and Pritchard from Norwich. Are any of them going to sign?

with respect, do you believe everything you read ?

Most of them are simply not true.
Alex Neil said no-one has even shown an interest in Pritchard let alone bid for him.
I haven't seen us linked with Taylor from Leeds since the summer when Cellino said he wasn't for sale at any price.
The Roberts ''bid'' doesn't make sense, we have 4 centre backs and Tarkowski can't even get a game, why would we sign another one.

Because we're going to sell Keane

Why would we sell Keane midway through a season, I don't think the board would be so stupid.

Not the board that's being stupid, far from it.
Expensive and rare commodity good centre backs.
No secret that Keane will leave in the summer and Long is injured so an injury away from being short.
Great business model - buy promising centre backs for £1-4 million, develop them, use them as back up and first team and then sell for £5-30 million. It'll happen with Keane, then Tarka and potentially Mee. Need to keep getting them in.

I understand that but Roberts is nearly 27, we wouldn't see a return once developed.
There wouldn't be much point bringing in a centre back of that age to sit around on the bench for years until Keane is sold and Mee/Tark are sold.

Sean obviously sees something in him (if he's after him) and must think of him as a reserve/sub/1st team cb. One injury/suspension now and no cb on the bench.
At 27 he could have 6-7 years of service.

The only ones we've definitely bid for are Brady and Snodgrass.

I believe Mike duff was 26 when he signed for us. Easily 6 decent years left as a centre-back.

I think they're the only 2 players too and snodgrass I think was a bit of a lucky punt on hearing west spams 'derisory' bids.
Really hope we get Brady, I'd go to £13 million plus add ons and close the Clarets transfer window early (except loan striker/speedster).

I'll go out on a limb and say that it will likely be close, but no cigar, on all of our efforts.
Try again in summer.

.... and I think there's doubts over longs fitness, latest minor surgery linked to injury at Newcastle two years ago I read this week.

Could be right m'lord, I think we'll be ok as we are just.
Whatever we might achieve this window almost feels like a jump start on the summer where, all going well, we will take the squad to a new level!
Very very exciting times!

Unfortunately for you, Tony knows no more about it than anyone else on here

By doing so, will we finish higher than our present 12th?

I don't think that's true, Tony said he thinks that was Brady's last game at Carrow Road, he then said ''hopefully his next club is Burnley''.

I agree that we won't sign anyone. If the Brady deal was close he would not have been in the lineup. Snodgrass wont come here. Any other rumor is pure speculation.

Cleverly and Narsingh were also mentioned but have gone elsewhere. Wrapped up and dusted. In fact Swansea have made a few signings that might just help their predicament. At least one might just help a bit.

See this is the problem.....people out there actually do believe what the media are saying, when most of the time it's complete bullsh1t and half truths at best.....

They think because it's written down it must be true...! People are actually starting to wake up and realise most of it is made up bull now, but the sooner the better.....fake news and half truths everywhere!

I'm 100% confident that all of our targets will either sign for us, for someone else, or stay where they are.

Well thanks for clearing that up anyway.

As mentioned further up, I don't see any further signings this window. The likes of Taylor from Leeds and Snodgrass I could never have seen happening at any point, unfortunately.

id love us to sign a pacey winger and a more complete target man, possibly another full back ( someone like trippier )
However I wouldn't be too displeased if we rolled with what we have currently, it's enough to keep us up. I'd just hope that we start seriously scouting for the summer to take us to the next level.
Our central midfield is light years ahead of what we had last time.
