Have you noticed that every article regarding a player being linked to another club always has the final sentence - ''Sunderland also interested..''

The same fat lazy striker who couldn't get out of his own gate.
We are Premier league, we don't need an over valued Championship striker.

We already have people to open the gates on a Saturday and he would be no use at that now would he?

Alan Boys, who used to run Burnley websites and was the first editor of CM prior to myself, used to make up stories of being linked with players just to try and get people to his site. At the time they would just appear on his site but if he was here now, Alan sadly passed away a few years ago, they'd get picked up on sites such as the one linked and the rumours would be all over the place.
RIP Alan - and we never did sign, nor did we ever have any interest in Luton's Liam George despite your weekly bulletins on how close we were to signing him.

I doubt there is even a shred of truth in this. However, I wouldn't be averse to such a signing. I know McCormack comes across as a bit of a ****. But if anyone can keep a player in line then it's Sean Dyche. McCormack has scored goals for fun over several championship seasons and for whatever reasons, it's not working out for him with Villa. Just think about Barton at Rangers recently. If Dyche thinks McCormack can make the step up and score goals at this level then fair enough. But like I said, there's probably no truth in it!

Seriously doubt he has the ability to step up to the premier league. Would be a poor signing but don't for a moment think there's any truth in it.

Would not be happy if we signed Fat Ross.
I agree though that there is probably not anything in this.
Many players are being linked with "half a dozen" premier league teams".....Burnley, Sunderland, Hull etc

The highly inflated fee, reportedly £12m paid by Fulham for this guy all but scuppered our chances of signing Troy Deeney. From there, getting another big money move to Villa is to my mind unbelievable and just shows how fickle the transfer market is. I would be staggered if we were interested in him unless it was anything but a loan signing.

Loan signing would be pointless really. All our other loans have shown that. Any loan signing would have to be SPECTACULARLY good for them to get anywhere near the pitch. And let's face it, Ross McCormack is not spectacularly good.
I wouldn't take McCormack personally. I'd prefer to strengthen other areas. But let's be honest, it's what SD wants that's important. I'm sure he knows exactly what he needs.

A Derby type signing to add to their collection. 5 year contract huge wages and not good enough for the Premier League.

If Derby want McCormack, I'd be quite happy to have a look at Derby's squad and see whether there's someone whose place he might take he could do a job for us. They've an absolute cast of players who - like Hendrick - could, with the right manager and in a system less geared to idealism, do a job in the Premier League. Jonny Russell would be one example of someone I could imagine fitting in with us.

Tom Ince maybe, but Jonny Russell?

Jonny Russell is being linked with Birmingham....£1m to £2m player.
He`s an ok championship player but nothing special - in and out of Derby side (and I know Hendrick was too) but does not look to have much pace. From what I have seen Ince is a much better player but I would not have him here either as flaky character and high maintenance dad !!
We need to be looking at better than Russell.....a lot better.

His dads annoying but Ince definitely has the quality. I wish we'd have been in for Matty Phillips from QPR before he went to WBA (for £3M I think)

Russell has a bit of pace, works hard and is fairly robust, the last two being the attributes which would see him preferred in my pecking order to Ince. He's a decent player and we wouldn't be the first Premier League club to show an interest in him. But it was an example.

He went to WBA for nearer to £7m I believe....but I agree we should have still have gone for him. Much better than Tom Ince and a completely different level from Russell....but also seems to have a good attitude.
With everything that was going on at QPR whilst he was there he never seemed involved in anything controversial and played well consistently. Tom Ince has thrown his toys out of the pram a few times....and his Daddy Paul was no doubt helping him with the toys and pram !

One has to think that the McCormick link is but one of many rumours
currently flying around as I can't believe we'd go in for him.
At best a loan signing to provide cover if one of our forwards goes down injured.
At absolute best and even then I'd think we could get better in terms of a loan player.

36 posts in and only a handful of people have actually spelt his name correctly, no doubt the people who still can't grasp Jeff's surname is Hendrick not Hendricks don't want McCormack to sign.

Hardly surprising, is it?
Some haven't grasped that we play in the Premier League and not the Premiership yet.

Anyone who thought Keith Treacey was overweight should take a look at this porker.
Maybe 3 or 4 seasons ago but I don't think he could improve us especially with his dodgy attitude.

But more importantly we have got ourselves into a league position that is way better than most of us could have dared to dream of. However we are starting to pick up injuries (Marney being the most worrying) and we still cannot win away (despite playing better). Our remaining HOME fixtures are Leicester, Chelsea, Spurs,Stoke, Man U , WBA, West Ham. We probably need a minimum of 12 points to stay up. IF we were to lose at home to Leicester who will have the 2 Algerians back from African Cup duty, our position would suddenly look far less healthy. We need to strengthen and do it now.

How many goals did he score last year and the year before?
A proven top level Championship player, he's always been porky hasn't stopped him tearing teams apart for years.

Sky Sports are now reporting that Fulham have withdrawn any interest in signing Ross McCormack after their manager Jokanovic canvassed opinion amongst the squad and the players warned him off signing him back!
That probably tells you everything you need to know about him, coupled with his apparent behaviour and attitude at Aston Villa. Another potential wasted talent.
