His teammate has failed a drug test which means he has lost his relay gold. No longer able to say he did the triple triple. Bet he is absolutely furious with him.
Why is this blatant cheating and substance misuse not more heavily penalized? It will never be discouraged if there is more incentive than not to cheat!

Barcelona are hoping a current court case in Spain goes in their favour, over some blood samples found in a freezer in the early part of this century.
No one has been allowed to test them yet and there's been a bitter battle to stop it happening.

I have wondered about the sudden turnaround in British cycling and the constant records being broken.
It's great to see but a little niggle in my mind has always been there assuming that all was not done with integrity.

There has been suspicion around Jamaican sprinting longer than there has been around British cycling - some have been caught in the past (e,g, Asafa Powell) - but being the one to take away such a unique record will make the rest of his life absolute hell - he will never be able to hide from it anywhere

I seem to remember some non-British cyclists making 'joking' comments when the women's team and Laura Trott did so well. It's as if they were suggesting some of them were taking drugs, but made sure they put it across in a joking way so not to get themselves into trouble.

Cycling is all within the rules. Just check the names of those you suddenly doubt...Hoy for starters. They beck the minutiae. No way would they ruin their reputation at the London Games.

Is a shame that these so called athletes make it so the athletes who actually work hard and are honest will always have their integrity and legitimacy questioned once they begin to reach the top.

There has always been doping in Cycling. My uncle raced in the Tour De France in the 60's and was mates with Tom Simpson who died on Mount Ventoux. Tommy by all accounts had speed tablets in his pockets. My uncle was pressured on a few occasions but was worried about the after effects so declined. So it's nothing new. You have to be super human just to complete the tour! on his first tour he lost 2 stone in weight.
I just hope for the good of British cycling that the hard work was honest hard work and not drug work. I would hate to see Wiggins, Cav, Froome et all in the same light as Armstrong would kill the sport and it's credibility in Britain.

Jamaican sprinters are as fast as they are because they eat lots of yams!
