After setting up a small CCTV System at the house. Don't need anything comprehensive or complex other than HD image and sound. Doesnt need to be able to see particularly long distance, more close up images.

Also want the ability to view and record from my Iphone.

Can set it up myself, just wondered if anyone had any they would or wouldn't recommend.

Thanks

Nest offer HD cams with microphone & remote viewing. I've installed a couple of their thermostats and I'm considering using their outdoor cam. The storage is on their server though which charged monthly

I have a Swann system. Got 6 HD Cameras and been ok so far.

Bought it as an 8 channel system with 4 cameras for £200 off Laptops Direct, much cheaper than Amazon

Since added 2 extra cameras.

You get a smart phone app that is easy to use

Not the world's best system but more than ok for the money and no subscription fee

I have 3 Nest Cameras inside the house. Got them to keep an eye on the cats while I'm away. If you want cloud recorded video then it's £80 per camera per year! They now also do an outdoor camera but I don't have one of those.

Also check out the Ring wireless camera. Works on batteries and records to the cloud for a fee

Great thanks both.

Yes something simple and easy to install is preferred.

I have had foscam cctv around my home and they are excellent, inexpensive and reliable.

Ipcam app which costs less than a fiver allows remote viewing and ability to move cams direction. Will also send email on detection.

Good Windows apps as well.

If you get cheap cameras you might as well not bother.
