Dyche was waxing lyrical about it too, he said" it should be shown all weekend, but as we're Burnley, they probably wont.*

The whole build up was superb, the finish sublime. Think SD has a point. If it was Rooney, we'd be watching it every ten minutes on he sky sports loop.

More than worth the admission fee.

I think he did nearly 80 today.

An assist and a goal, top notch today, it was his class that won that game.

Beauty of a goal. Bristol City should have gone 1-0 up though first with that point blank header.

Highlights are on BBC website now.

Clever "dink" with outside of the foot is what it looks like to me. Defour also put in good pull back to Vokes for first goal.

Don't know if link will work from outside UK.

Very, very good goal.
Class strike from a class player.

Good save from Pope as well.

Magnificent goal, and his creation of Vokes' goal was superb also. We have got an extremely talented player on our hands here...

Defour really is different class. That finish is just fantastic. Love watching him play, great touch, passing very good and the flashes of sheer brilliance are the icing on the cake.

Imagine what he'll be like next season after a full Dyche preseason.....

Aside from the goal a few things stood out for me.

1. Work rate - never going to match Boyd but he ran his socks off and pressured the opposition, held his shape well when we were defending deeper. Definitely not a luxury player, he is a grafted.
2. Fitness - not an issue. He bust a gut a few times in the game and it didn't look to affect him at all.

I don't think he has any issues at all completing 90 minutes. I think Dyche has just been clever and used him sparingly as he grows to learn the way we play and the pace of the league. Why else would he be playing in less important cup games like this?

Superb. A privilege to say he's a claret.

Been watching the clarets since 1980 and it was the best piece of individual brilliance I've ever seen to score a goal bar none..

Think we can finally put to bed the idea that we've never signed a decent non British player from outside the UK

Agreed, bbc stuff not available in Canaries.
Great goal
Noticeable how Gudmundsson was heavily involved in build up to both goals as well. Proper footballers playing proper football

Sean Dyche has to be praised for bringing such a talent to Burnley, some people have said he has an issue with Defour over his work rate etc but I personally think that is a load of nonsense, as a poster above stated Dyche is nurturing him along and I just hope we can keep him next year as it is a pleasure to watch him.

I couldn't care less about his work rate to be honest. We need quality like that on the pitch. It's all about balance. We need workers, but we also need players who can pull the game off the floor and get on with it. Sick of this weird notion that we either have to be this work horse esque team or a team full of billion pound players. It's a balancing act, we haven't found ours just yet, but we will.
