Nixon linking us with Dan Gosling. Mention of a £7m offer.

Marney but 6 years younger.

Very much a Dyche type footballer.

He's renowned for Boyd-like distance coverage.

Ran 14k in their recent game vs Arsenal.

Had to Google him. The versatility is a bonus but would be better if he had that range down the left, instead of the right. But if Brady signs hmm...

UTC!

Think he would suit us, definitely a Marney replacement, and younger.

One word of caution would be that he has had some horrific injuries (a few years back now mind(.

Why would Bournemouth sell to us? Although 7 million is a decent fee all things considered.

Nixon tends to go public (i.e, the papers as opposed to just the odd line on Twitter) when there is more than an element of possibility to it.

I think it's more to do with if the paper is bothered enough to include it, rather than it being Nixon's call.

He said in the opening post where he saw the link, he didn't make it up....
If anybody made it up it was Nixon and he's pretty spot on with us and has been for years.

Dan Gosling linked

According to Alan Nixon we're having a look at Dan Gosling from Bournemouth after the Marney injury.

Don't know a great deal about him but makes sense to be looking for another centre mid

£7m is how much we are willing to bid apparently.

Only played 140 league games in his career but most of which has been in the premier league.

He is basically Marney but 6-7 years younger

He's on 40k a week at Bournemouth and he like a bet, do we need this type at Burnley.

Gosling was charged with misconduct under Rule E8(b) of the FA's regulations, which relates to players betting on football matches, and on 10 March 2014, Gosling admitted "multiple breaches", requesting a personal hearing to answer his case

Gosling is a good player.

Im always going to be in favour of us signing good players where we can, so i'd welcome the signing, but a part of me does wonder if he's the right sort of target for us. Even if Barton gets a ban, weve Defour and Hendrick to form a recognised central duo, so to my mind wed be better if looking at a player with potential who is a viable option in the middle now as cover, bit has potential to really grow with us - particularly if we get Brady, who is versatile enough to play there. I'd have thought we'd have a better chance of signing that sort of player before the deadline too.

Anyone think that Eddie wants the money so that he can put in a cheeky bid for Brady. :(

I'd rather read it three days late from Boden or on here than listen to that fat whopper Nixon.

I mean, unless someone actually puts pen to paper, it's pretty irrelevant who hears what first.

DYCHE PLANS TO DO DEALS

Burnley manager Sean Dyche is hoping to get a few deals over the line before the end of the January window tomorrow night. But he doesn't want potential transfers to affect his team's preparations for their game against Leicester.

He's the sort of player that would allow Defour to play to his best. I think he'd be a great addition in light of Marney's injury

He's a typical Dyche enduro-athlete, Boyd-like in his running.
