12 was his squad number at Norwich.

Club not confirmed his number although they did immediately with Westwood.

Re: 11 and Kightly, we also have Hennings out on loan but Westwood has taken his number.

Think there will be a squad number shuffle over the summer. A few Players leaving freeing up low numbers.

The clubs twitter account tweeted a picture of the Brady 12 shirt a couple of days ago.

Yes they have

12 seems logical given that he wore it at Norwich, think Hendrick took 13 because it was the number he wore in the Euros for Ireland.

When I said they hadn't confirmed it but had for Westwood, I meant on the club site. The article welcoming Westwood confirmed that he would wear the number 18, but there was nothing on any Brady articles that I could find.

At Sheff Wed. they have Steven Fletcher wearing No 3 and defender,Adam Reach wearing No 9. I believe their 2nd choice keeper wears No 2.
In the 1978 World Cup Finals Argentina wore 1-22 in alphabetical order so midfielder Ossie Ardiles wore,strangely for that era, No2. And why Roger Hunt wore 21 in 1966,playing in every game is also a little odd.

Some wear "lucky" numbers, some do it for sentimental reasons like Arfield.

I don't think I'd of worn an odd number had I made it pro.

Ardiles wore No2 and no 1 belonged to another midfielder called Alonso. Ricky Villa had No 22 in the squad and strangely,their 'star' of the tournament, Mario Kempes, did have the No 10 shirt. Captain and central defender,Daniel Passarella, wore No 19. Some great players in that squad.

My dad would never have coped with this - he couldn't get his head round Liverpool opting to allocate the number 5 shirt to midfielders and the full backs just had to be 2 and 3.

Maybe thinking too much into it but Tom Brady the American quarterback also wears number 12 - that must be good for publicity/promo.

I love that the Holland keeper Jongbloed wore number 8

The number 1 for Holland in 1974 was the striker Ruud Geels.

It should have been Cruyff on alphabetical order, but they let him stick with his favoured 14 and wear one less stripe on his kit.

Have to agree with this myself. Gordon Milne wore no 4 in the 60's for Liverpool and was replaced by Tommy Smith who began his time at Liverpool as a midfielder. He eventually slipped into the back four when Ron Yeats retired and Peter Cormack was bought to play in midfield wearing the No 5 shirt vacated by Yeats. No 5 shirt eventually moved onto Ronnie Whelan.

That's when my dad got confused - I don't know what he would have made of squad numbers at all.
