Probably!
But I would say Niang's tackle on ward was just has reckless but he gets a yellow, sets up the first goal for Watford then scores himself.
Looks like we used up our luck for this season with the goal against Leicester.

No doubt. Straight Red all day long

Niang was late and clumsy but did not rake with studs high -
Think we are all agreed with Hendrick's challenge though

Absolutely stupid challenge 5 minutes in, away from home.

Yep its a red. He's trying for the ball but not really newer it and dives in studs up.

Fair enough, but the ball had gone and he went straight through Ward.
More than clumsy I would say.

Yeah it's definitely a red, we can't really argue.
I don't know why the Burnley fans are booing Holebas? similar to the Arsenal fans booing Defour the other week when Xhaka got sent off.

What was clear from Kick off was that Watford had been fired up to tear into us - if we had used some smarts it is them who would be down to 10 men - Hendrick reacted to what was happening around him and we paid the price

Definitely red. So now 3 matches for Hendrick, may be 10 for Barton, Marney out for the season and Defore for a few week

Haven't seen it but from all accounts from those that have
it sounds like a nailed on red card.
Just what we didn't need. So without Defour and Hendrik
for probably the next 3 games and Barton facing a long ban.
We could be in trouble albeit Westwood and Brady will no doubt
be starting in the next few games.

Shocking challenge, feel for the fans who have travelled down.
We always seem to make silly decisions/mistakes more against the sides we could/should do well against!

Is it definitely a 3 game ban? I was thinking 1, although that could probably be professional foul only.

To be fair, when was the last time we had a man sent off? Must be at least two years.

Duff at West Ham
And we successfully appealed it

Sh!t happens. He won us the reverse fixture.
I can't actually believe, given the way we play, we've managed to go almost two years without a red card.

Have to give ref the credit, got everything right today.
Hendrick red was one.
Niang, was a yellow, reckless but no studs up, folded is legs.
Shame but on we go.
we can win at home, but oh, its fuckin Chelsea.

Their player who hanballed it giving us the penalty should have had a red not a yellow

The penalty was correctly deemed not deliberate

the only thing i think he bottled was when Niang scored he ran off into the crowd, yellow card, should have been his second and a red by the rules (ridiculous rule btw)

If it's not deliberate it isn't a foul.

It's just clumsy, no malice, looks soft till you realise he's made contact. An annoying one.

Dyche has made much the same point regarding Niang in his post match interview, and if he did run into the crowd, then clearly he's correct and that should have been 10 v 10 in the second half.

Prodl should have already been booked for persistent fouling before his handball too.

Bob on, so he should.
Check out the stats, they fouled more, had 5 booked to our none. First over enthusiastic tackle by Hendrick, gets sent off
Also the guy who was fouled deserved an oscar for his "performance "

Over enthusiastic is one way to describe it. A more accurate description would be reckless and dangerous.

Very harsh the defender is a con artist.Rolling about like he's been shot then bombing down the wing next minute. Deeney went in two footed several times and stayed on.Kabul clattered Barnes with his elbow on several occasions. An appalling example of how not to ref a game from home blower Oliver.
A Great fightback but again Sean's timing 're subs was poor.Three points dropped against a very average side.
Robbie Brady looked class and why he did start second half is beyond me.Also why was Johan not on for Arfield who looked overrun at times.

Definite red card for me. It was over the ball and dangerous. We can't argue it at all. The only question I ask which we don't know the answer to is, would an opposition player be sent off so quickly?
As mentioned above and, as I did on another thread, Niang should have walked, however stupid the rule is, and Prodl persistently fouled but got away with it.

Was it anymore dangerous than the lunge on Ward in the Spurs game which seemed deliberate and pre meditated? That only resulted in a yellow card.

No it wasn't. That was a red all day long too. As we see it's always easier sending a Burnley player off than a Spurs player. Still doesn't mean Hendrick's wasn't a red today. We DO just want some consistency though!

At the end of the day you cannot fault him for commitment to the cause, just fired up to do well for us on the day, better than lying down,he and us will bounce back, unlucky not to get a point in the end,UTC.
