Anyone watching tonight? I fancy a Falcons win as I like an underdog (Burnley fan after all!).

Gonna give it a go again this year. Started watching the last 3/4 years but always turned it off before the finish.

Yep! Can't expect anything but a Belichick/ Brady victory but it should be a good one.

Yes will be watching and hopefully due to retirement through to the end of the game. Have watched since 1986 when the Patriots were the underdogs. In a sport that positively punishes the successful teams and assists the weaker teams to get stronger it is amazing that the Patriots have managed to maintain their success.
Just like Burnley no one likes them! Will be a very close game with the top rated defence against the top offence, the Patriots have a good offence as well which should swing it for them, fingers crossed...UTC ....Go Patriots!

Me too, Claretpipe.
When Ch4 had started showing it.
Chicago thumped Patriots?

Hoping for a Falcons victory but can't see beyond Brady and the Pats. It will be a high scoring game with two of the best offences in the NFL.

Is it still a £5 per person unlimited bowling on Sundays?

Not been for ages.

Yes, but it could be £5 well spent if the lady in the next lane looks like Janet Jackson and has a "wardrobe malfunction"!!!!

Main difference between the Patriots and the Clarets is they're a right bunch of cheating two hats... hence no-one liking them! Come on Phalcons ;)

God no. There are many, many better ways of passing four or five hours.

Ironing.
Stripping wallpaper.
Walking the dog and picking it's **** up.

Not in he spirit of he thread I know, but I really just don't get it. I cannot think of one element of the whole Super Bowl weekend that would make it an attractive proposition.

Anyway, good luck to ya if ya have a bet on.

On the ground here in Atlanta. Will be watching the game along with everyone else in the city. For a city that has a transient population and not much in the way of fervent sports fans it will be great for the city if the Dirty Birds win. Then again I've got a tenner on the Pats to win and I'll never know the rules, or be engrossed for longer than 10 mins in the average game.

Biggest sick day in the US tomorrow!

tried to figure it all out for a few years, still dont know a single rule of the game. it appears highly complex.

In basic terms, the team with the ball (offence) has to get to the far end to score - a bit like rugby. They get 4 attempts to get 10 yards, otherwise most of the time the other team get it and they become the offence. If they do get 10 yards or more, they start again with 4 more attempts until they reach the end. You're right though, it's very tactical - in fact at times it can be like a game of chess with one team trying to out-do the other and the defence trying to anticipate the next play and stop them

Yes I'm watching.
Got really into it in the 80's on Ch4, as school kids we used to play in Queens Park during lunchtimes. Then early 90's living in Accy, everyone went out Sunday nights so there was always a Super Bowl party after hours.

Going for the Falcons tonight but Brady is such an awesome QB, so calm under pressure

It would happen a lot quicker if they stopped having so many breaks - it's so fragmented.

PS Just seen a touch down, and another break ffs.

I'm a Patriots fan but I think Falcons will win. Brady has slowed a fraction but that's enough in this game to make the difference. Hope he proves me wrong.

Burnley Prairie Dogs - anyone remember/heard of 'em? Early 90's used to train Sunday mornings on't Prairie fields, majority of guys were rugby players and/or doormen.

Patriots won't be able to come back without Gronkowski, could be one way traffic after seeing what the Falcons did to Green Bay.

Each team gets 1 possession of the ball unless the first team with possession scores a touchdown.
