If (and its still an if!) we stay up in the Premier League for next season, who do you want (from the likely contenders) to get promoted?

Personally, Newcastle (still never done St James Park), Brighton (in-laws live near there so 2 birds 1 stone etc) and Norwich (moving back to Suffolk next month, so nearby) are my preferred options in terms of locations. I'd love to see Huddersfield sneak in though!

Huddersfield represent the club least likely to threaten us (assuming we stay up) so them, for a start. Newcastle is a decent away day, so I'd not complain at them coming up, but I'd rather Brighton didn't, for a host of reasons.

Huddersfield and maybe Shef Wed

Given that Newcastle surely couldn't fail to get promoted with the players they have, I'd like to join them:

Reading: I still feel slightly sorry for them when their fans ran onto the pitch in 2015 when they thought they'd finished in 6th place, yet hadn't. I was at the Reading vs Burnley game that day (it was pretty funny though).

Huddersfield: I like the way they play.

Anybody other team other than Leeds, Brighton and Derby.

I think it'd be great if Huddersfield got promoted. Their fans are amongst the soundest I've come across, with an outlook similar to ours.

Plus Leeds Road looked a lot like the Turf did...

Newcastle
Huddersfield
Sheff Weds/Barnsley

Norwich, Barnsley and Reading.

Everyone else can collapse and fail because there would be some laughs to be had there.

Imagine a Barnsley vs Burnley game in the PL, that would confuse the media who were bad enough when we were in the championship.

Reading - down the road so a nice close away game.

Who cares who gets promoted as long as Rovers get relegated.

But please let it be on 1st April at Brighton

Newcastle. Always a good away venue.
Huddersfield, because as has been said, they are similar to our club.
Sheffield Wed, because a friend who is a fan and the city of Sheffield needs a Premier club.
All close for away matches.

I don't think any of those are near Bali.....

Newcastle and Huddersfield are both great away days.

Forest, closest ground to me, but is never going to happen. Huddersfield half way to the Turf, Sheff Wed likewise and Newcastle just because they will. That would make BHA and Leeds failures along with Aston Villa, Norwich, Derby County, Reading, Birmingham oh and Rovers not making it. If we survive that could be a fun end to the season. IF

It's the selfish 'see the in-laws at the same time' that makes me want Brighton to go up. I'd love them to fail for many more reasons!

Nor leeds really. Got some very good friends from leeds, and i'd like them to be happy, but the vast majority still haven't learned anything from their years in the doldrums. Still obnoxiously arrogant, and utterly classless.

This IS selfish. You should want your in-laws to succeed.

As others have said - Newcastle (great city to visit/ great pubs, etc);
Huddersfield (again, great real ale day out);

Not really bothered who else, as long as the usual suspects don't make, prime example being leeds (obnoxious, arrogant bunch who seem to think that 30,000 attendances from a city of over 800,000 is something to shout about. It isn't you di ck heads). Oh, and brighton (what a bunch of self opinionated fan nies).

And of course, the bas turds to be flushed down the pan and relegated, all the while coyle telling anyone daft enough to listen, 'we've got tremendous potential/ the boys have shown real quality/ they've given me everything' etc, etc.

If Brighton don't get promoted this season they've had it. They need to or they will be met with harsh ffp punishments.

By harsh I mean they won't have to pay a thing, get no points deducted and the decision will probably be contested for an entire season, just in time for the chance to be promoted again.

Maybe when they don't get promoted again the ffp may mean something.
