Always interesting to read what other fans think of our team.
First comment:
Going to put me feet up this afternoon and hopefully watch Burnley get hammered by Chelsea

Edit - Having read a bit of it, it's mostly bitching between Burnley fan and Lincoln fans lol.

I lost interest after the first page of comments.
They certainly have high opinions of themselves. Especially considering they are a NON-LEAGUE team....
I hope we really batter them.

It always amazes me that a Burnley fan or two pops up on forums were you really wouldn't expect us to be.

"Burnley look a very hard-working team but there is nothing to be afraid of in terms of individuals. Brady is cup-tied, so can't play. They won't have come up against a side like Lincoln before. Could be interesting"
yeah, course we haven't, ffs

How so? I lived there 3 years and its a very nice city, particularly around the marina and up around the cathedral and castle. Never had any bother there

I thought you battled well today but was very lucky not to get beaten. If we get the rub of the green next week like you did today I think the result may be the same and you will get a night out to our uninspiring city

To them it's their 'cup final' away to a Premier League side.
To us, it's a run out for players determined to get into our Premier League surviving starting 11.

Lucky not to get beaten? Fairly sure you didn't watch the game then!
For the record, I think Lincoln is a very nice city. I live in Spain but I'm coming to the UK in April and Lincoln will be one of my visits

You'll be surprised how many times they 'get the rub of the green'. It can't be just good fortune I'm afraid to say..
I'm a Blackburn rovers fan by the way, their deadly rivals now we don't play man utd every season..

We absolutely deserved a point and had the chances to win it. Either you didn't watch it properly or you know nothing about football. I suspect it's the latter.

I can't work out if they're joking or not. They don't seem to be - until some Clarets bite then it's all "come on lads it's only banter". I will be glad when this tie is played and out of the way (and hopefully we are in the quarters)

One or two on there are smacked out of their tits, or Man United fans supporting their local team for a year as they have done a cup run.
Either one is fairly depressing!

With all that confidence they do realise we don't have Joe Neenan in goal any more don't they?
I don't take beating them for granted btw I've been watching football too long for that.

Burnley 0-1 Wimbledon, 4th January 1975. (They held top side Leeds 0-0 in the next round too!!)
We were by FAR the better side, and had by FAR the most possession and chances, but lost the game. Wimbledon were non-league and Burnley were finishing in a nice position in the old First division. Sh*t happens. Let's just hope our players take it seriously, and Dyche doesn't play too much of a weakened side. It's 11v11 and clearly Lincoln aren't a bad outfit for their level. Most clubs which win the conference seem to bounce straight into the third tier too, so that's food for thought.
If the game was played on paper we'd win 6-0. It's not played on paper unfortunately.

They were our deadly rivals but now we don't play them anymore. In fact, if you (Lincoln) continue as you are then there's a very good chance you'll play them in the league before we have the pleasure again.

Nearly all of the Lincoln goals during their cup run thus far were scored by Theo Robinson a deadline day signing for Southend.
Pipe and slippers afternoon for Keane and Mee.

yep agree, Lincoln should be a football league club, I've got a feeling they are on the way back this season though. As we know sometimes a good cup run can compliment a promotion charge. I hope for our sake their cup run comes to an end next week but hope they go on to win the conference.

Just a club of long armed wannabe footballers who turn up at sincill bank every now and then to roar at men running around in un-natural colours going Grrrrr.
Was what I saw last time I went.

Lincoln has a nice City centre but obviously students don't tend to live in the less affluent areas, some of which are not so nice.
Some of the more exciting things at Sincil Bank in recent times are when a Fire Engine or Ambulance get a 'shout'.
I will guarantee most of the posters are young and support another club as well as being on this seasons gravy train.
Good luck to them.

You'll have to ask Barry himself, Prince Charles looks chuffed enough though.

Do they seriously think we'll have trouble getting roughed up with the physical long ball game! I imagine we'll steam roller them especially late in the game

Just been having a look and they've updated their poll.
'Will we win, lose or draw against Burnley FC'
A staggering 67% of them think that at worst, it will be a draw.

According to Wikipedia their striker Matt Rheid is 6'3" and just under 17 stone. They're right we haven't seen a forward like that since we played Dawlish Town back in Stan's day.

I haven't see it anywhere on here but according to their official site:
Josh Ginnelly replaced Terry Hawkridge for the Imps ahead of the start of the second half and his introduction paid immediate dividends as just five minutes after entering the field of play he drilled home from the edge of the box with a slight deflection off Thomas seeing the ball beat Poke.
Sounds like he won a number of corners and played really well.
Fingers crossed it's not the last time they see a goal from a Burnley player this season

If the roles were reversed, I'd expect every one of us to be deluded...I mean, confident.
Lincoln will, no doubt, attempt to frustrate us, kick lumps out of whoever they can for as long as they can and nick a goal by whatever means.
If they can achieve it over 95 long, hard minutes fair play to 'em.
I was at the Swindon League Cup semis and at the Wimbledon FA Cup game in 1975 so, like many other Clarets, learned the hard way about taking nothing for granted very early.
