Taxi recommendations - Manchester

So we've got a works do going on at the Death Star and we're off to see a comedy act at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester. Apparently the show finishes at 11pm, which nicely means I miss the last train and bus back to Burnley.

Consulting the font that is UTC, can anyone suggest any taxi firms which they may have used in the past to get back to Burnley from the center of Manchester without costing the earth?

Millennium taxis on Manchester road Burnley are usually £30/35 depending on day and time. We have used them before, bargain if 3 or 4 of you are sharing.

Always been wary of Millenium who used to charge an ex of mine more for the same trip I made with them..... Even though she used them more than me.

For any Manchester trips I always use Max Cabs from Accy..... Usually about £30/35.

If it is running on the night in question then definitely opt for this option - costs the same as a taxi would between you all but the charachters on the X43 at that time are bloody brilliant!!!

Was coming home from work in Manchester nearly three years ago just after they began the 'late buses' and asked the driver if he'd been involved yet. He told me he'd driven the 2am bus and although it was a bit 'lively' it had been okay. Not as straightforward for the 3am bus driver though who was about to pull away from Chorlton St. when a traffic cone came flying through the front window of the bus.

Went for Cutsy's option of an UBER with a £15 off the first fare voucher. Thanks for the suggestion.

It would have been the bus but as I mentioned in the initial post, we miss it as the last bus leaves at 11 on a Friday.

Just a word of warning with Uber, the price can fluctuate at peak times VS demand.
About a 30 to 45 mins before you need a taxi put in to/from coordinates and keep refreshing watching the price.
When I used them the cost when up from £40 to £55 and back down to £44 and then i ordered the cab.
To be honest it was an excellent service, I got an email report within about 5 mins of being dropped off with a email receipt the next day, but I as said the price can vary on time / demand.

It's been pre-ordered as Cutsy suggested. In all honesty with a £15 voucher at worst I'll pay the going rate.

I only ever use Uber, far more convenient and just as cheap if not cheaper than the alternatives. I had my only bad experience at weekend when I was charged an excess rate without accepting the price surge, first time that's happened. I used the complaint feature on the app and received a refund for the difference within about an hour. That put them higher in my estimations. Don't mention them to London cabbies though.
