My current Email provider (Orange) is ceasing in May, so I need to find another.
Any suggestions/recommendations (eg how much data storage you get, other features, etc) as to which to go to, please?

I am with orange for email as well but have not yet had any notification of the
service being withdrawn. I have, however seen an article on uSwitch which confirms
what you say.

That will be a blinkin' nightmare with all the various log-ins and the amount of
people/companies that have my details, including this forum.

Has anything like this happened before and do they provide a forwarding service ?

Just use Gmail. It's easy enough to use in Outlook if that's what you're familiar with.

Is there not a facility to forward your emails from Orange onto another account?
You could then set up an outlook email account to receive those

That's something I have to now investigate, but it's the having to inform all my secure log-ins
which causes me most concern. It's going to be a real ball ache.

The issue with Gmail is that Google scan all your emails to place relevant ads. You may be fine with this in return for a very good online email service but it's worth being aware of.

Never had a problem retrieves emails from every account I have ever had.And can't say I have ever noticed any ads
(Must pay more attention to my spam box)

I'm aware. I use adblock anyway, and i use seperate encrypted email to plan all my terrorist attacks too so i'm not at risk.

Doubt Google are the only provider to scan emails and use for marketing, they are probably the first and if so the rest will follow.

Personally I think it is wrong and imagine the uproar if Royal Mail did the same to a person's post.

The difference is you pay the Royal Mail to deliver the post, Google provide GMail for free, you don't have to use them and the T&C's are clear when you sign up.

I've just registered with outlook after a bit of research - seems very good from what I have
messed about with so far and much greater functionality than my previous provider.

Link to the site that I used to sign up - just click on the blue MSN "Outlook.com" icon on
the favourites bar at the top of the page and begin the registration process.

Yep, I had email addresses with nokia mail and they shut down in March 2015.

Personally, I use the email belonging to my domain name(s), but if you don't own any websites, I'm sure gmail, outlook, yahoo will be fine. You can also use their IMAP details and get the emails coming straight through to Microsoft Outlook.

I would recommend an outlook address. Use the onedrive and windows 10. Especially if you use multiple machines. Tablets phones etc. Everything is sync' d. It's certainly made my life easy.

I've had a freeserve email address for 15 years but no longer in May. Closing down like orange. Got a new gmail one. easy to set up in Office outlook and on android phone.
