Brady

I know it's early days but simple question on performances so far. Brady or Grosicki and nursing homes. About same money spent except the extra wages. I feel the other two would really have given us something different on both flanks. Today I felt both Brady and boys were dire

I believe he will though I think we needed players to hit the ground running straight away which the other two have.

Nursing homes looked a menace in the first half today.

Hendrick (no S) was dire for the first month

He's obviously been watching us and assumed that to play for Burnley you must display no ability to pass or control the ball.

Seriously though, he'll come good.

Hendrick took a while to settle and looked a bit off the pace and not used to the system. Other than set pieces Brady looks awful.

Hendrick didnt have the benefit of 2-3 yeara of previous premier league experience. Brady does.

But still, I'm sure Brady will be fine in time. His ability isnt really in doubt.

Definitely time for him to come good, early days. Before today, he's looked the part but just poor final balls.

Have to say that today he was awful, may well be tactics. Would never of guessed he was winger/attacking wide man today.

Don't worry. Based on his valuation, we'll sell Scotty in the summer for £30m and buy someone elsw

He's scored one and assisted one

We definitely need his left foot in games

If he was a world beater he'd be playing somewhere else

People doubting the Irish Messi* ?

Brady is strangled by the system we play away from home unfortunately. Creativity has no place in our away plans.

That Brady himself said he was disappointed in his performance is enough for me, for now. He will no doubt be still thinking the same. Im sure he will come good.

How depressing is that statement? Although probably true. :(

It's very possible that Brady and Westwood are not as fit as SD expects our players to be.
My only concern is that we have spent about £25+million on established Championship standard players, which does seem an awful lot of money.
If you build a squad from 2nd tier players there's every chance that's where you'll end up.

Havent Brady and Westwood got about 150 premier league games between them.

Brady has been disappointing so far, but given time im sure he'll be fine. Likewise Westwood.

Our league position suggests otherwise

At least he doesn't just run 5 yards behind play for 90 minutes like Boyd. The time he did get forward Boyd passed it all the way back that ended up at the goalkeeper. Compare that to how many crosses they got in.

Something needs to change.

He got an assist today as well I think. Despite this, I haven't been impressed so far, but hopefully that will change.

I don't want to appear to be wise after the event. However I constantly expressed my reservations about signing a player with 2 relegations from the Pl on his cv on previous threads. On top of that from watching more than a few Norwich games this season there was nothing to my mind to suggest he was a player I felt we should make a move for. I think for the sort of money we paid, I would expect an immediate impact a la Gabbiadini who signed for a similar fee for Southampton.

As far as impacts go Brady's was pretty immediate.

Brady has left a team that play the ball on the ground and use wingers to attack. He has signed for a team that uses wingers to defend. A neutral would think he had signed for a championship team from a Prem team.

Norwich appear to have imploded since selling him, and his record with us so far is decent with a goal and an assist. He is always looking for the forward pass which I like. He tucks in a lot away from home which limits his attacking instincts while rendering him less effective overall due to still learning our defensive shape / routine.

I'm not concerned at all, and if we had 22 points there would be an argument not to play him while he settles in, but with us on 31 points it is a long term gain situation I think.

Three games in.

2

3

And he's got a goal and two assists (well, sort of)

It happens in every club when marquee signings start slowly. How many United supporters were writing Zlatan off in October .................

I'm sure Robbie will do very, very well for us.

Scored against Chelsea. That brilliant goal aside he has been shocking. His touch was terrible, every time it went to a Swansea player. I hope he can improve

I always reserve judgement on a player until I have seen him for at least half a dozen times. However on today's showing it looks like we bought the wrong player from Norwich as Olsson looked miles better than Brady and only cost £5 million.

His mate Jeff had a somewhat ignominious start, but has improved and grown into the team to the point he will be one of the first names on the team sheet when fit.

I see no reason Brady can't follow in his footsteps.

Give him time. He'll settle in I'm sure.

Only on CM can you get people saying we should have bought Norwichs left back when we were looking for, and bought, Norwichs left winger.

The way we play away from home would be foreign to any winger coming in. our wingers are instructed to play narrow and defend for 90 minutes. They can't do this and put crosses in at the same time. Tactical issue I'm afraid. UTC
