Robert Pires or Inzaghi

I loved the way he seemed to glide 1mm above the grass when he ran. His goal against Villa is one of my favourites. I bought Puma boots whilst everyone had predators because of him.

As for Inzaghi. Goals. Simple as that really. He just loved scoring.

Uwe Seeler - I was sort of fascinated with this idea of us playing teams from another country. Not my favourite footballer, not sure I had one, but one whose career I followed. Even today I still feel an attachment to Hamburg in that they are my favourite German team. Good news last Sunday too, they beat Hertha Berlin 1-0 although they are still in the relegation play-off place.

I always remember part of the song sang at the turf regards yashin of russia and eusebio of portugal they must have been pretty special to be sang about in a small part of east lancashire even though our lads were better than them apparently. Its got to be gordon banks for me though....and as i came of age that day....malcom macdonald charlie george and stan bowles.

Trevor Brooking - responsible for my first visit to the turf also had soft spots for Colin Bell and Alan Devonshire

alternatively my first memories of the turf are from lying in Ightenhill park on a Sunny August afternoon listening to the longside in full voice and being able to work out how the game was going just from the noise

Chris Kamara - my dad used to play squash against him at South Marston Country Club when he played for Swindon Town - he always ruffled my hair when he walked past and I thought he was like royalty.
