The end of mathematics...

I've kind of given up on mathematics but not quite. How can 1+1=2 when one doesn't know what 1 and 2 is? There is no 1 per se or 2 or 252 only 252 of something.
1 dog + 1 cat = 2 goats?
1 boat + 1 forest= 2 frogs?
It's the end of mathematics...

I really need to start looking at who the OP is before opening threads.

I've always regarded maths as suspect when you consider that an infinitely large number can exist between two numbers. The explanation that we should use three significant figures was a get out IMHO.

You should use spearmans' rank correlation co-efficients to work it out.

OK Conio. What are you going to do with the big knife to divide the pizza by one?

2/infinity = 0
1/infinity = 0
So 2/infinity = 1/infinity = 0
Multiply both sides by infinity
Then 2 = 1

Eat it.

Rowls, that's 1-1 =0, not one divided by one = one. And eating isn't quite dividing, is it? Devouring, yes. Dividing, no.

Cirrus Minor, why do you think infinity is a zero?

One pizza divided by two people = half.
One divided by one = indigestion
