Puts our non-performance in perspective. We should never have got into a brawl with them though the referee was woefully inept from start to finish. On your bike Lincoln.

Arsenal played a full-strength team and didn't try to match their playing style with a non-league team.

Well speaking honestly, we had the lions share in the 2nd half but never put our chances away, just ourselves to blame, and take it on the chin, unlike some spoilt brats from the remain camp in the Referendum, I WILL NOT ASK FOR A REPLAY!!

Dunno, I'm getting a bit tired of the constant you lost, get over it, from people who clearly hadn't got over it for 41 years.
Lincoln beat us because we couldn't score, and they scored almost at the end, giving us no time to get one back. If we'd have scored first, like Arsenal we would have just picked them off.
But we didn't, so well done Lincoln. Be interesting to see if they can build on this, it could kick start them back into the league and into League one.

We should never have lost to a non league side given our home prem record. Simples

If we had of gone one up the result would have been similar. Arsenal played as they do so did we. The passing style that has served them well for a couple of decades winning the Prem and cups and doing well in Europe backed up by hundreds of millions of pounds worth of transfers justifies the six goal reversal of our game. UTC we move on.

I love Burnley & think SD is a great manager for our team, but the Arsenal result just goes to show how one dimensional we are.
I am pretty sure we will stay up this season, but we do need to improve our style of play for next season.

No it actually shows how many better footballers Arsenal have than we do.
Although I could see Darikwa getting in the team ahead of Bellerin.

Bin On Turf has it spot on in that Arsenal are a million miles ahead of Burnley and whilst we were lucky to beat you the reality is you are just about lacking in quality to give us a sniff whilst the Arsenal were just in a different league

They had the measure of us really. Yeah we were a little unlucky here and there, but they had a game plan and executed it to the letter. It's only what we have been doing to other PL teams this season so fair play to em. They dragged one or two of our players (who should've known better) into a dogfight, and won it fair and square.
It was a cup flash in the pan, and I see nothing wrong in her description of who we are in relation to the top four/six.

But Arsenal and Burnley are in the same league. The Premier league. We are Premier league.

I rest easy in my bed at night knowing that we've got a far greater chance of getting to the 6th round of the cup *next* season, than Lincoln have in the next 105 years. They should enjoy it.

Well done and banter aside tonight i really hope you stay there but if i was told in ten years you would either be Prem League or League 1 id go for the latter cos once your manager moves on to better things you'll fall back to where you really belong
That said enjoy the good times whilst they last

Thank you, we did in 1888 when we were founder members of the Football League, as well as the three occasions we were in the FA Cup Final, twice when we won the First Division, and- as Ringo said- we made it to the quarters of the European Cup as English champions.
Where we 'really belong' is the top tier, Princess, as our 135 year history proves. I found Lincoln's cup run enjoyable, but the fact that you're judging our football club on the two decades spent down your way instead of our countless years of top-flight football is laughably short minded.
As I've said before, best of luck to Lincoln this season and next, but please do your research next time.

Just watched Match of the Day.
Your manager (how many do you need, or are you sponsors of some secret inbreeding programme!?) Said "we've been on a journey"
So you can get off the open top tour of our message board now. YOUR "good times while they last" are done. You started your "David and Goliath fairytale" in front of 700 fans.
Go back to them now.
Win, lose or draw. We're at Anfield tomorrow, a place that once your managers (are you Milibands in disguise!?) move on, you'll never see!
Toodle pip.

We are under no illusion that this cup run has been beyond our wildest dreams of who we are today. Our ambitions are simple to get back in the football league and see where we can go from there
Sorry Ringo if that dream is beneath you and you somehow think you are superior just because you are briefly at the top tabel. I confess I dont know your full history but I guess you have more to shout about than just getting to play at Anfield and when inevitably you drop down the divisions im sure you will still share the dreams, passions and joys as the rest of us you currently look down your nose at!

I don't think anyone on here looks down their noses at lower or non league clubs, after all, we've been down their ourselves (in the lower leagues, that is). However, those who's fan comes on here to claim that we aren't a Premier League side- that is a different matter! I still like Lincoln City Football Club, there are very few football clubs I don't like- just felt had to back Burnley up here

.
Best of luck, 'night all.

Mr Wexford you are spot on to be fair on a message board we all push the boundaries a little and I admit whilst making genuine points I have been deliberately provocative.
Still if people like Ringo make silly posts I will enjoy making fun of them. As said on a few posts I honestly hope you survive this year and despite my needle you have become a sort of second club

Actually, the only reason Burnley didn't take two points against Arsenal this season was purely down to two injury time goals both involving that freak of nature Koscielny who is invisible to linesmen, and that is all they are ahead of Burnley.
Now your cup run is over get back in your hole and enjoy Borehamwood this week won't you whilst we take on Liverpool.

Until Arsenal scored Lincoln were in the game and had a couple of opportunities themselves. They were doing OK.
In the second half they had to be a bit more open and that allowed Arsenal's passing to open them up. Arsenal were especially impressive with short passes in the penalty area, something I don't think we can do.
Rheid got in his obligatory early elbow and also somehow got away with not going off the pitch after an apparent injury. I notice again that Lincoln liked a breather from injuries to have a pitch side conference with their managers.
Nit picking aside thought, it was a magnificent achievement by Lincoln - they've still got much to play for - FA Trophy and promotion as champions.
I think these achievements illustrate a number of things: that money and sports science has percolated down to the lower leagues. They are fitter, have better pitches and training regimes that allow them to compete more effectively against the top sides. I reckon we will see more of these sort of 'shocks'.

Speaking of going back to 'where you really belong' and enjoying 'the good times while they last' - 8,000 Lincoln fans at The Emirates yesterday, 800 fans if you're lucky at York on Tuesday followed by 80 at Borehamwood a week later. I hope the thousands of Lincoln glory seekers enjoyed the last game that they'll see for a very long time yesterday.

Our performance against Lincoln lacked one major ingredient, COMPOSURE.. we lacked it on the ball, in front of goal, in all the major incidents, in the dugout, in the crowd, absolutely everywhere and we got what we deserved. Hopefully like we usually do we learn and move on.
