Team vs Liverpool

.................Heaton
Lowton Keane Mee Ward
Darikwa Barton Hendrick Brady
..............Barnes Gray

Darikwa has lots of energy and can use his speed to beat their left back.

We MUST try something new at right midfield. If we don't then we will lose.

I've been drinking as well.

What we need is Ian Brennan, Ray Pointer and Andy Lochhead, as they know what it's like to score and win at Anfield.

What an absolutely disgusting comment, suggesting we play John Flanagan.

Certainly would.

Mainly along the lines of "how the hell have they got away with playing him against his parent club?"

Would be brilliant wouldn't it, particularly given he's not permitted to play.

From what I've seen, if it was possible Liverpool would have insisted on it.

I'm genuinely surprised Liverpool didn't request that a condition of the loan was that Flanagan would play the 90 minutes against them at Anfield.

Edit - beaten to the punch.

I'd be interested to know who we could play at right midfield that would mean we would win the game???

I mean, as pointed out in the OP, if we don't try something new we will lose so surely trying something new means a win, right?

Well Darikwa is certainly not the answer there.

I think team will be

Heaton
Lowton Keane Mee Ward
Boyd Hendrick Barton Arfield
Barnes Gray

Subs: Robinson, Darikwa, Tarkowski, Westwood, Brady, Vokes, Agyei.

If you are right Ct, and we have both Arfield and Boyd in the starting line up, I won't be feeling too confident.

You'll probably be better closing the board down for a few days, if Arfield starts ahead of Brady.

I'm inclined to agree

Im also rather disappointed that given we've spent millions and millions of pounds, the only "upgrade" on seasons gone is replacing our most reliable performer (when fit - Marney) with Hendrick

That's black and white minstrel stuff. Totally taboo.

I have to agree! Also, as I've said before, Darikwa offers something we lack...I saw him get to the byline & put in a cross in one of his rare appearances lately!!

Vokes to keep his place is my starter. I would not risk Brady from the start either. Barton to score for sure.

I'd like to think Brady will be in instead of Boyd but i think the basic proposition - play our best players - is right. Arfield and Boyd remain good servants. Boyd perhaps hasnt shown the requisite quality in possession recently but he's a key member of the squad. But Brady should start, if only for his set piece prowess against a team notoriously vulnerable at defending them.

I'd go with this too, suspect Dyche's team won't be far off. I thought Brady was poor last game but he he has set pieces and that bit of extra flair we lack.

As a side note, every time I look at one of these threads, I marvel that we have such a good player on the bench in Tarkowski.

Seems to be more than one rule enforced on Flanagan. The one that means he has to play with his laces tied together is becoming a real problem.

Heaton
Lowton Keane Mee Ward
Hendrick Westwood Barton Brady
Barnes Gray

But I have a feeling Boyd will start instead of Westwood.
