With Boro at home to Utd & Hull away to Everton a draw would, in all likelihood, leave us with an 8 point gap.

A draw away from home is good wherever we go in the Premier League. But I really, really hope we go all out for a win. If we can't beat Sunderland away from home, we'll never win an away game again.

Beat them convincingly twice at TM this season and drew at the Stadium of Light, should get at least a point next Saturday.

Bet Sunderland and especially will be targeting their games against us.

Damn right. We need to grab 3-4 draws from anywhere.

Excellent chance of winning against Sunderland and Boro.

Also good chance of winning at least a couple of the games against Stoke and Wham at home
and Bournemouth and Palace away.

It should be, if some of the others down there lose but then this is probably Sunderland's
last chance to try and avoid relegation so they know they must beat us to stand
any chance of avoiding the drop.

Lose to us and they're 15 points behind.
Win and they're 9 behind us, 4-6 behind some of the others.
Still in with a chance.

So they will be up for it, no doubt.
And so must we knowing that we mustn't lose but also that a win would see us
tantilisingly close to staying up.

I think we've scored in all our last 12 Premier League games and won 4, I think.
It's 5 or 6 games since we last won.

But yes, you'd have to think if we can manage to score at Boro' we can go on and win the game.
Especially if it happens to be the first goal of the game.

Some decent comments on here but the obvious thing to say is this...when we play our lower table rivals..don't lose the match..draws are fine..we get a point, they miss out on 2 points and we move one game closer to the end of the season..easy innit.

I am talking about Sunderland, Boro, Palace, B'mouth in particular..
- points against say MUFC, Spurs, Everton for us are bonuses I would say, we might get no points from those 3 fixtures..

They will all take points from each other AND.. no complacency from me, but I think we will stay up.

Dead right, hampstead, and while we shouldn't rely on other teams' failings and get the job done ourselves, it is pretty likely that one or two of the dogs below us will eat each other.....We have the points and several chances to pull away, they don't.

7 points from these 5 games should see us safe anything from spurs, everton and manu are bonuses if we get to the last two games and are not safe then Bournemouth and west ham still give us a chance of getting the points we need. so no need to panic.

It will be Sunderland's cup final. The crowd will be well up for it and they will be throwing balls into the box and trying to hurt us with set plays all afternoon.
We seem to do well against teams that try and pass through us, where we can work hard and make it difficult.

I think Sunderland will be a different game, I think they'll let us have more of the ball and do an us, on us.

To "do an us" you need to have a, well organised, competent defence. Fortunately, Sunderland's defence is neither of those things.

We will see.

If they do an us, it might be a case of us been very lucky, them very unlucky and we come out winning by an odd goal.
