In my humble opinion.
Defour - good
Hendrick - ok
Westwood- ok
Brady - poor so far
Flanagan - poor
Bamford - poor
All of these players should have been carefully assessed for several games by our scouts before signing.
Do we need to recruit better quality scouts?

The point Bradys free kick earned may be the point that keeps us up,

Brady has been poor in open play, but his free kick and corner have earned us points. Maybe his main role is dead ball situations but I'm sure his open play will improve.

up to now our scouting system has proven to be pretty much useless, see what the summer brings

For Burnley standards, we did considerably better this season than two seasons ago. Save for the two loanees, our signings will probably ensure PL survival, which was surely the main objective.
We do however need a serious upgrade in the summer.

I was very pleased with Brady's returns when he joined, a goal and two assists in four looked like he was going to adding chances and goals to our game.
Sadly some of his basics such as passing in open play have let him down, I fear it could be a self fulfilling prophesy as he gets fewer minutes his performances decline, so he gets fewer minutes etc.

Our scouting network is a disgrace!
Thankfully we appear to have been able to secure two promotions and be on the brink of premier league safety with a team consisting solely of homegrown players that came through our academy........then again, we don't have any of those in the team so perhaps the players we sign are quite good?
Just a thought.

What about JBG what the hell has he done so far?

JBG, Hendrick, Westwood and Brady will most likely be big players for us next year. Hopefully Defour too.
On the whole we've done pretty well on transfers this season.

What's steve cotterill doing at present, he could spot a player and if out of work would be a useful asset in finding good players.

JBG has done fine. Just been unfortunate with injuries.

and of those signings who has done a full pre season with Dyche - go back to his 1st promotion - every player who has done a full pre season with Dyche and played regularly has improved immensely - next season will see us better - though we may have to wait for signings until late in the window again which is a risk (though the financial saving is huge)

I have not seen anything since he has arrived at the club to think that he will improve our side. He looks an average Championship player, with a few tricks and no pace, and on top of that he has fitness issues

You missed JBG who I think we are missing more than anyone else.
I wouldn't disagree with your assessment, but what I would say is when they were first mooted, and then brought into the club, they were universally welcomed and seen as a big step up. Even Bamford.
Hindsights a wonderful thing, and I still believe that they are finding their feet in the side and the system.
If we can stay up when they haven't hit the ground running, it only bodes well for next season.

I think anyone who watches regularly knows that JBG looks like a very good find at a very reasonable price and COULD prove a real bargain. It's impossible to say right now though and unfair to judge him as he has been a bit unlucky with injuries and he was properly crocked by Lincoln. Time will tell.

Didn't take Westwood long to force himself onto the bench , we were warned !

I'm not sure how you rate Defour as a better signing than Hendrick.

Unkind ! Westwood was signed as a replacement for Joey when he is banned. That hasn't happened yet but he will get his chance to prove himself. He will have to wait like Tarkowski has done.

Westwood started in the team with Barton .

Hendrick is the bench mark for future signings, if they are all, at least, his quality and his age we are winning.

Ask anyone who has ever changed jobs.
It takes time to adjust, and develop confidence in a new environment.
Brady will be great, as will his mate Jeff.
High hopes of JBG too.
And Westie hasn't "forced his way onto the bench". Who should've been benched? Barton? Hendrick? Neither? In which case, Westie's a sub.
Future midfield could be:
Brady Hendrick Westwood JBG.
I like that. Once they've learned the legendary 'framework', there's enough energy there, but with more goals.

Think the framework will have run its course by next season, time for the Sparkler.

Victories against palace and Everton at home entirely dependent upon JBGs qualities
If he hadn't got injured against Lincoln we might also still be in the FA cup
An absolute bargain of a signing
