To get promoted, presuming we stay up?
It is quite close, much closer than I expected. It looks like Newcastle are almost there. Don't mind them but you would think they would throw a lot at it to stay up and with a manager like Benitez they would probably be top ten.
Second spot, cannot stand Brighton, don't like the fans, the players or even their stadium so hope they blow it. No real desire to go back there any time soon. Hope Huddersfield get second spot. Won't have a great deal of money to throw at it and would probably need the most investment of any of the top 6.
Play offs. Don't mind Wednesday, they deserve a premier league club. But hope that Fulham do it. They wont have expected promotion, they too will need a lot of investment, they dont have a huge following and would probably struggle if they came up. Also one of the only grounds I havent done.
Didnt realise how close Preston were to The Play offs but cant see them being there.
Think Newcastle, Brighton, even Leeds, Reading, Norwich and Wednesday would be the best equipped to make a real go of it and be a big threat to us.

Auto - Huddersfield and Newcastle I suppose.
Play offs - Fulham.
Brighton missing out would be funny, same with Leeds and Reading.
You say Newcastle could be top 10, but I can't see them chucking silly money at it.
Leeds - I actually think they'd struggle if they got promoted and would come back down.
Brighton - I'm a bit hazy on Hughton's record in the PL, its nothing spectacular is it?

Newcastle, Huddersfield + Sheff Wed.
Can't see any of them making top ten and the last two would have to gamble a lot of money to be close to staying up.
Benitez is Good enough, shrewd enough and knowledgeable enough to keep the Mags up, if he stays.

Newcastle would be almost up now if they'd done their duty and taken 6 points off the b*******s.
How different would that table look at both ends if you exchanged those 6 points.

I don't get the affection for Sheffield Wednesday. Judging by all the comments regarding us on social media, we don't deserve to be in the top flight because of our average attendance. They think they have a right to be there because they live in a major conurbation. Another Leeds United

... For the battle of the Bene, not Wednesday. never liked them. Dirty Leeds you love to hate. Huddersfield a blast from the past and Nuke the united for 74.
Realistically only the play-off place is up for grabs and why not Fulham? Never been there but living daaan saaf, I've met some of their fans.

I don't get that.
Big city. Big club. Historic club. Loyal fans who have been there through thick and thin, when they went down the leagues. Like City for example.
I get every team can lay claim to some or all of these things. But as much as it is good to see the likes of us, Bournemouth, Swansea, Hull and even Say Palace and Southampton do well it is also nice to see clubs like Wednesday there too.
Give me a traditional old stadium like theirs (the disaster aside and now its safe) over Leicester, Middlesbrough, Derby, Reading, Southampton identical stadiums just different names and seat colours.
Just a personal opinion.

That of course is what I mean.
I can't think of one thing recently that Sheffield Wednesday have done, that makes me think 'they deserve a Premier League club'.
You don't 'deserve to be in the PL' because your club is in a big city, and you have quite a lot of fans...that line of thinking is for simpletons and drives me up the wall.
A club only 'deserves to be in the PL' if they come up as Champions [us last year] or runners up [us three years ago] or through the Play-Offs [us with Owen Coyle].
All Premier League clubs need to be in that league on merit.
** having said that, I am sure that there are quite a few powerful people in football [those that just think of the ££££££s] that would rather that Watford, Bournemouth, Swansea and us would just drop a division or two, and allow in Leeds, Newcastle, Villa and Wednesday [or similar]...one of these days they will engineer just that and bring in 'new rules' about ground capacity, or annual turnover. When that happens I will have seen my last Premier League match.

I couldn't care less about the stadiums or the fact that the club is located in a Big City, or has some history...these are not criteria that make you
deserving of a Premier League place....you should only get that if your football performance over a season in the Championship, is good enough.
- Newcastle and Villa deservedly went down last time because they were shy** and we came up because we had a very good season....just how it should be.

I know all that. But there can only ever be three teams that come up. And with the play offs (which I agree are a good thing) you could say that using the logic above teams that dont deserve to go up, do. Like us in 2009.
The league is good when it consists of plucky underdogs (bournemouth), historical overachievers (us), big city underachievers (Newcastle) and globa clubs (utd, liverpool etc).
Wednesday have as much history as us and a bit more and Yorkshire should have a club in the premier league. (OK Hull).
Just an opinion on what makes things more exciting and inreresting for me.

The whiny Geordies don't deserve the best of anything.
It would be amusing if they missed out on promotion, it's a bit odd not hearing them whine about their manager or owner.

Largest city has nothing to do with football.
Leeds, Newcastle, Bradford, Sheffield, Nottingham, Birmingham(WBA?), Wolverhampton, Wigan,Bristol would all love to have a PL side.

Newcastle, Huddersfield and Wednesday. Keep it up north, but we don't want Leeds, arrogant shits are loud enough as it is.
P.S. looking at that table, with still another 8 games to go, it's still hard to believe that we only lost 5 games in each of our last 2 championship seasons.
We were pretty damned good weren't we.

I hope Newcastle, S. Wednesday and Fulham but it reality I think Huddersfield or Brighton will be in there. Brighton missing out again will be hard for all from chairman to fans and I have nothing against them.
Always seems at this time of year one from 7, 8 & 9 even maybe 10 seems to go on a run and get in top 6 where momentum can carry them all the way, from that pack would like to see Preston do it, they have been quietly creeping up so could be the outside team.
Glad we don't have to even discuss Derby
Just not Leeds please
