Lee Grant

Post by Inchy » Tue Apr 04, 2017 10:51 pm

Thank god we upgraded on that flapper. He hardly had anything to do but still managed a few poor clearances and nearly took his CB head off with an unnecessary punch

I know he has had a good season but that's from the glamour saves he makes. Still dodgy

He had very little to do.

I expect Inchy's post about the current Burnley players will come in good time.

He's a good goalkeeper otherwise he wouldn't be playing regularly in the Premier league.

Lee Grant has never been a good keeper and never will be filling in till Butland returns then he will be consigned to the bin where he belongs

Fill in only for SC, and not a good one at that.
Hasn't improved since he moved on.
Am I bothered...?

Strange how he won our supporters player of the season award.

I mean if you're judging goalies by Tom's standards then fair enough. But it's not the norm.

Never seemed that happy to be at Burnley when he played for us, so hardly going to change now.

He gave, and received, a fairly decent round of applause before kick off from the Jimmy Mac. To be fair, as we didn't have fans in the Cricket Field when he was here, he probably assumed all the abuse was from his own fans.

Certainly responded to the fans in the Jimmy Mac stand. Not surprised Inchy has started a thread on him, he used to start plenty slagging him off when he played for us, probably liked to shout BEEEAAAAAST.

Lets not forget Grant made some vitally important saves in Dyche's first season. Blackpool at home anyone? Never thought he was as bad as what our fans always said he was.

Agree 100%. Some of the abuse he used to get from the JMac when he was here was pathetic.

Beast was sh'te, Gabor was worse, Grant better than them two but that's not much of a yard stick.

I still think Grant is dodgy. He makes the odd glamour save but that's his job. It's not his job to nearly kill his CB. He's dodgy

Thank God we have Heaton

No one can take your opinions on goalkeeping seriously because you rated Gabor

I never felt comfortable with Grant when it came to his clearing, or coming for crosses. Certainly wouldn't like to be a defender in front of an erratic keeper.

To be fair, he is a decent keeper, but still makes the same mistakes he made with us, communication and kicking are awful!

He waited at the tunnel to talk to Dyche, but didn't look at the burnley fans once - would you if you'd had abuse shouted at you for the best part of 90 minutes?!

A decent shot stopper (although the number of times he used to push the ball out into the path of an attacker was astonishing), but never seemed comfortable kicking or coming for crosses. Certainly wasn't upset when he left.

Grant is a magnificent goalkeeper but just not quite as good as Brian Jensen.

I bet Grant was worried when he saw Jensen at half-time. Probably worried that he had come to claim his spot off him in the Stoke team. :)

Parry Grant. Never felt confident with him in between the sticks.

Always felt he was decent keeper, but he was prone to letting soft goals in. Beast used to have horror shows, something that can't be levelled at Grant, but we seemed to let a lot of goals in with Grant in goal that left me thinking he could have done better.
