How many points from the next three games?

Everton haven't lost at home in the league since Liverpool won there in mid December.
Man Utd will be a massive challenge.
Palace away won't be an easy prospect with their upturn in form.
I'd be happy with 2 points to be honest.

Honestly think we'll beat United.

WE may be able to play with a bit more freedom now that safety is within our grasp. I win and 2 defeats would be a good return

Even though they've got some very good players, Man. United have been very inconsistent this season and rely heavily on big nose.

They've been very consistent at not losing though. 21 games unbeaten in the Premier League, since October, when Chelsea beat them.

I too fancy us to get something against Man Utd at home : but no points from Palace or Everton Away.
In terms of Man Utd, they play :
(H)Anderlecht on the Thursday
(A)Us on the Sunday
(A)Man City on the Thursday
I'd fully expect them to be full strength for the two Thursday games - and not so against us. Hopefully we take advantage.

I didn't realise they have not been beaten for so long. I suppose the fact they seem to draw every home game doesn't help!

Win the home game and draw the 2 away games.
Makes us safe = normal people happy
Still won't have won away = keeps the oddballs happy they can continue the weird moaning going.
win win

I'd say two, although it's a bit irrelevant as we are safe anyway.

Nothing if we don't score - I don't think we'll keep a clean sheet in any of them, which means two away defeats - maybe a point against United.

ManUre in the middle of a horrendous run of fixtures could be good for us.
Palace could be a bag of nerves if they lose there next two.
4 for me and I'm not bothered how they come.

This. Don't Man U have some European games before/after they play us? So they may rest some of their players.

Really ? Do you think 35 points is enough ?
From the remaining fixtures of the teams below us I think it will be 38 or 39 points this year.
I think we will get them but can`t see us getting many points in next 3 games. Possibly a draw v United and Palace.
Would love to secure our safety against that Portuguese two hat.

We've got 36 points. And a vastly superior goal difference to the two likely relegation contenders.
We might need more points but I suspect we've already got enough.

Why do you think it'll be 38-39 points required?
I'd be interested to know what your reasoning behind that is.

Yes sorry - we do have 36 points - effectively 37 with our goal difference.
Swansea have 3 winnable games and could easily pick up a draw against one of their other 3 games.
Looking at the fixtures again though and how tough Palaces fixtures are aswell I am going to change my mind !! I agree that 37 points will be enough.
Would be good for us to have a few games where we can relax -"we" being the fans not the players !
I think we will finish on at least 40 points anyway

Dont think us getting anything at Everton but we can certainly get a couple of draws from Palace and Utd. Big game today for Palace who have by far the toughest run in.

I think we'll do well to get just the one point from the next three games.
Can't see us getting anything against Everton away and the home game against
United will be very difficult too.
Palace away will also be extremely tough as they will need the win more than us
so overall one point will not be bad.
Any more or one win from those three should see us safe assuming both Hull and Swansea
don't both go on very good runs - ie. 3 wins+.
It's possible we could lose all three and then we might be getting
more than a little nervous as fully expect Hull and Swansea to pick up at least
3 points from their next 3 games.

3 points by drawing all three or possibly 5 by beating manure at home.
Everton and palace we are capable of taking a point from, we are a very well organised side. Our framework is good and we're very difficult to beat, no reason why we can't take a point from each.
Manure is the one where our ability to put the ball in the net at home, as proven against many of the top teams in this league, is the difference between 1 and 3 points.

50-1 with Skybet to be relegated, I can see those odds dropping like a stone over the next 3 matches
And double it up with Rovers to stay up is almost 200-1, put a couple of quid on myself, tgats one bet I hope goes t1ts up

Its funny how at this stage of the season it's so easy to imagine that that teams who haven't managed to earn a point a game for the first 32 matches will suddenly start to accumulate them at a rate of 2 a game, whilst we won't manage another point even though we'd pick up a couple even if we were to emulate the worst run we've had all season.
Anything's possible, of course, but I recokon we'll be OK.

'Tis the life of a claret I s'pose, fear the worst and rejoice the good times
And after Leicesters great escape last time we were in Prem we're just waiting for the next team to emulate their escapade

With six games to go we've taken 5 points in our last six, Hull 9 & Swansea 4. Neither will catch us!

don't think we need the points really but those with the Palace are doomed mentality, due to there remaining fixtures 3 games ago, have very cloudy crystal balls!! Chelsea & Arsenal beat, so consequently they can beat anyone. Football obviously not an exact science, therefore even Sunderland not out yet mathematically, we have to keep trying and realize that some teams will be relaxed as they are safe and nothing to play for, teams desperate for points will be scrapping. Do the players want to spend there summer holidays in hospital or on crutches versus a nice beach with a drink.
Motivation is going to play an important point with twists and turns still to come, Palace far more motivated than Arsenal last night and you would have thought they should both have been playing with the highest motivation possible, don't see Arsenal getting a top four spot now.

Given their display last night against Arsenal don't see us getting much at Palace.
A draw at best.

Doesn't matter how many points we get in the next 3 games. It is the total how many we get over the 38 games that counts. We start the 6 game run-in to the end of the season with an 8 point cushion.
As long as Swansea get 7 points or fewer more than we get in these 6 games they don't catch us! Middlesbrough have to get 12 extra though they have 7 games to get them and Sunderland need 16 extra in 7 games. Even Hull have to gain 6 extra points just to get level with us.
Hull, Swansea and Sunderland have very inferior goal differences.
