CT puts reports of the youth team up regularly. They are joint top of their league having just won 7 games on the trot. http://www.uptheclarets.com/magnificent ... or-clarets

Few players had my admiration more than Duff on the field of play, always felt he would be a decent coach, hope one day we see him managing. Wether he has the mentality or desire for that I'm not sure but he appears to have settled in well with the Youth set-up.

Loyal to Burnley and played here for many years. Knows the club as good as anyone.
Defenders tend to be better managers. Probably because of their reading of the game. They need to know how the team thinks and defends. Also how the attackers play and try get the better of them. Attackers tend to be a bit more flamboyant and instinctive.
Then you have the managers he played under and the change and progression in the club on amd off the field. Been part of a massive part of our history.
Has played under so many different styles of manager who all played their part he will have learnt the best and from the worse bits of all of those managers. Cotterill, Coyle, Laws, Howe and Dyche. There is a lot of knowledge and a lot of experiences he will have learnt from. Good and bad.

I once saw Michael Duff 3 times in 3 different places around Manchester, all in the same afternoon. The second time he had a double take, the third time he looked at me like I was something he'd stood in. Good judge of character that Michael Duff

We all hope he does well. Must be strange not being part of the first team, after so many years.

Re: How is Duff getting on?
Apart from the statistics, which are clearly very impressive, my understanding is that he's made a really big and positive impression on the place generally.
Agree with those who reckon he might make a fine coach. Apart from position, I think players who have had to work at their game to make the most of themselves, and who have acquired new and different skills and roles as their careers have gone on, tend to be well placed to make good coaches. Duff certainly ticks those boxes (I remember someone once telling me that Wade Elliott might make a good coach on the same basis). I've no idea what he's like as a tactician - although he's played under some good ones - but he's always struck me as a thoughtful and pretty intelligent guy who has a bit of gravitas and leadership about him.
I recall watching him watching him a game from an exec box underneath my seat a couple of years ago. Was really interesting - a couple of other players who were with him spent the game in their phone. Another one was sat next to Duff and basically got a running commentary from Duff as to what was happening and why. Duff was kicking every ball and struck me that day as having the demeanour of a manager.
