In reality I'm sure he's more interested about being as successful as he can be and or as rich as he can be.

I'm sure he is capable of forging a new partnership but it is often the one you have which turns out to be the best. I'd have said he could do with another years growth before making the move which will define his career

Got to disagree. What if we never get relegated again?

Of course, I want Michael Keane to stay and for the whole team to move up the Premier League - adding new players to become a regular "top 10 team" and "doing a Leicester" once in a while winning the Premier League.

Lovely thought, abc, but he will improve faster training every day against world class strikers and playing in higher profile matches.
I hope he stays but I'm not holding my breath.

He could stay another season, maybe sign a 1 year extension, but he'd then possibly miss out on his move or have a nightmare of a season with us.
He could have another top season with us, but who knows.

While not everyone is money motivated, even believe it or not fooballers in some cases most are motivated by success and being the best they can. I am sure Keane can play at a higher level for the next ten years than he is noe. So for that reason he will and should move on. We just need to hope like with strikers for the past twenty years we replace him with better.

He looks like he is on track to secure an England place now.

He seems to be attracting a lot of plaudits so naturally probably puts his agent and him in a great position to get a move which will give him a good opportunity to go to a more established PL team where he has a realistic chance of being 1st choice.

He will want to move to earn more money - 1 bad tackle and your career is over.
He will want to play with teams who possibly will play in Europe
He will want to play with players who are better than what we have - he will want to prove he can cut it at the highest level.

He won't want to stay at Burnley just because things are good for him at the moment.

Apart from anything else, Gareth Southgate has already said he wants his regular England players to be playing in Champions League games and Premier League title chasing teams. Keano needs to move on to further his career. We've played a massive part in it but the time will come soon when he really has to go and play for one of the bigger clubs.

Do people really need that sort of money, better to be playing football than looking in from the wings.
Yes he probably will move but he might never enjoy the same central partnership again, a partnership of equals based on mutual respect, that's often hard to find in the world of football.

You don't think we can be challenging for European football CT. You of little faith. Once we get a new striker, a holding midfielder and a rapid winger we'll be challenging the best.

If he doesn't sign extension to contract and we are safe any value in playing Tarks in his place for last games of season?

No reason we cant get i europe. But for now at least it would be the exception not the rule.

Staying at Burnley won't make his agent rich so expect the advice to be move on.

Plus hanging around with us can do his reputation no good, he's proven at our level but not the next stage. He also risks his body because a serious injury could strike at any time so financially he's better to move on asap and get the big wage, huge signing on fee and the security of a long contract incase such injury occurred.

I think we as a club owe it to the players like Keane to leave to further their career, i'd hate for us to stand in their way.

Yup another off the conveyor belt. People will panic like they have down the years when we've sold strikers, even the likes of Andy Gray and Ade caused panic but we always find a way, Lafferty, Trippier, Chaplow, J Rod etc the next will be Keane & Gray then Tark and Agyei.

The thing is that the majority of top players will inevitably want to go to the top 6 - 8 clubs. We can't stop them, but we can be astute enough to get top money and have replacements lined up.

He played through into the 1960s I think. He's got a stand named after him and a statue now at Ashton Gate.

He's been brilliant for Burnley and a main reason we've progressed!

I would be quite happy with my life at the moment and the prospect of £100 grand a week would be very welcome,unfortunately I'm not Michael Keane.

Even as a Burnley fan I'd rather be on 100k+ a week playing for a big club in Europe and playing for England regularly.

Good stepping stone for him and hope he goes on to do well.

Got to admit money plays little part in my life, never needed much never wanted much, so maybe my advice doesn't sit well with the modern post Thatcher persona.

Why should we get relegated once our midfield is finally sorted.

If we stay up we should be in a position to pay Keane what he is worth. If someone offers him silly money that would be different, but I imagine Keane isn't going to be the highest paid player at any of the top 10 clubs. Bearing in mind the cost of finding a replacement to us, it makes economic sense to do all we can to keep him onboard.
The publicity he gets playing for Burnley is doing his career no harm at all, so professionally there is very little for him to leave for. Champions League football maybe, but would he be a guaranteed starter at those clubs.

A big decision for him this summer, I hope he decides to stay. Our back 5 have been excellent this season, next season they can get even better.

The DT today claim that Everton are heading the queue for Keano and also claim that Leicester will pay £30m for Gibson. Good news for us then if Gibson is rated at that.

£40m on 1st July (next tax year) and 3 points for us tomorrow and he is yours Everton.

If you read what I say rather than jump with both feet you might see that I think we could be challenging for Europe with a few astute purchases.
If we can keep this defence together we will always be hard to beat.
