quick recap on mondays
FAROOK was readily beaten by mostahel who actually looks a decent type ...surprised at the speed bearing in mind ela mana mou the dam sire...one to follow,
ROCK OF AMERICA was lit uip early after being gunned from the gates to get a position....a wider draw would have helped in hindsight...lots of ability just needs to chanel it properly.
EXCELLENT RESULT traded 1.16 in running prior to the winner showing a rare turn of foot to get to him....will be keeping that winner on side.
SIO8UPERHERO...no where near good enough.
TAVERNER ran a good race...traded 1.2 in running but the winner did it well in the end...cosy win.
no damage done in irish national with the biggest priced one getting 5th....the winner looks exceptional and will no doubt be aimed at next years gold cup.
all in all too many crossbars and posts and not enough goals...hoping that changes tomorrow ( Tuesday )

some nice prices today...guide prices shown.

1 50...ELYAASAAT 2/1
this is in the dante and derby...sired by FRANKEL.
I would normally look to lay a horse of this nature given all the well bred newcomers but the main dangers are sired by...INVINCIBLE SPIRIT ( 2 percent strike rate on 3 year old debut )....LEMON DROP KID ( 0/21 3yo debut ).
the 4 at the bottom are fillies...last 10 years at least no filly has won this race.....the draw for the fav isnt ideal in 3...higher would be preffered....trainer has fitted a tongue tie for debut which is perhaps a sign he means business and wants to get the maiden win in the bag prior to going on to better things.
2 10...BUSHEL 8/1...sired by street cry who has had 10 of his off spring run over this course and distance....4 won and other 6 placed 1..2 or 3.
2 20...CONTRIBUTE 14/1...a high draw an advantage for these 2 year olds...this trainer loves this track...29 percent striker rate and this is drawn 9 of 10....he has a very speedy pedigree
2 45 TATTING 5/1...exactly same as BUSHEL...same sire...same c and d.
2 55...I have laid the fav via ignatia at 2.4...last year showed a strange climbing action and I dont think the likely fast ground will be ideal...also a lot of gosdens 3 year old debutants have needed the run...the other fav in race is SALSABEEL for those that prefer betting to laying.
3 30 STRONG STEPS 10/1...ran at doncaster last time where there was a huge draw bias favouring low numbers...this one was drawn 19 and was first home of those drawn high....SACRED ACT was better drawn but is a third of his price in this race as he hails from the gosden yard and dettori is booked.
3 55 AMONG ANGELS 8/1 PLUS...won from a bad draw over c and d a couple of runs ago and is better off at the weights today with the fav in this race ( custard the dragon ) who today has the worst draw in the 1 box.
4 15...GALLERY EXHIBITION 10/1...has been running on unsuitable ground lately...he is a fast ground horse who is nicely handicapped.
4 25 PRINCE OF TIME 5/1...TRUST ME BOY 10/1...backing both ew 123....both have ideal circumstances and good draws.
4 35 TOP MISSION 11/8...process of elimination...2nd fav firefright is sired by DRAGON PULSE who are only 2/41 with 3 year olds...trainer is 0/9 last 2 years at track....3rd fav is MUKALAL who has a knee action....TOP MISSIONS stable is running at almost 50 percent strike rate now and the sire DUBAWI is top class.
4 55 RYEDALE RIO 9/2...this is a big strong type and easterbies grand daughter rode this over c and d 3 runs ago...she ran into a pocket and lost momentum and is better in at the weights than POWERFUL WIND who ran that day...easterbies only runner at the track.
5 00....laying djarkalin from the in form skelton yard...this is a dog...cannot believe that WAR CREATION can be worse....perhaps the worst horse in skeltons yard.
5 05 FOXY FOREVER 11/1....has been running some excellent races from bad draws on the all weather but has been very pacey on the turf as well....fully fit and should run a big race.

plenty of interest on Tuesday...utc.

A lot of time spent on that happy.

In all honesty does it pay.

Prehaps it would be useful if you put daily profit/loss figures

good luck Colin/cutsy...interesting day...with southwell and Newmarket.
Paulatky...there is a lot of work goes in and I think of all the sports/hobbies people do, sometimes the effort isn't rewarded.
what I post on here is a fraction of what I do...if anyone ever fancies an afternoon watching what I do then they are welcome to pop round.
3 days ago there was a nice profit on the bets...last 2 days not so...personally I ended up on the wrong side on Saturday but made good profits yesterday and the day before.
It really is a tough sport to make pay when you consider what the punter faces...inaccurate going descriptions...trainers/jockeys stopping horses...fallers...bad luck in running etc which is why most of my bets are decent prices....last few days I put some short prices up but that wont be a typical scenario.
It never ceases to amaze me that people who don't bet on horses/sports/casino/cards etc question whether they make money or not.....for most people its a hobby and they put their yankee on in a morning with hope and not expectancy and it gives them a daily buzz. I know of a few on here that don't bet the horses at all but like to read the post and watch....Many people have hobbies that cost a lot of money...try asking a season ticket holder how much they spend every year going home and away or someone that goes skiing 2 or 3 times a year...expensive hobbies.
Horse racing and all sports trading is a constant battle that needs constantly reviewing...for instance...look at the grand national...up until the last 3 years the horses that won were easily predicted from a small group of horses....for whatever reason, that has changed....the irish national had a big trend buster yesterday with the weight carried....that horse is an exceptional horse with a huge future.
between now and Ascot is a great time to be betting/laying for me...after ascot 7 or 8 meetings a day become too hard to handle and at that stage I cannot wait for the evening racing to stop.
If people want to make a profit from my posts they must spend time getting best price available....by opening multiple accounts and having a betfair account...I rarely use bookies as its too difficult to get on what I need...fortunately I can usually manage on betfair....plenty of movement on todays horses and if anyone has taken best prices they are now in a position to take a risk free profit....I would be surprised if many are in that position but that is their choice.
Bottom line is that if you regularly beat sp you will win....if you take under sp you will lose....losing runs etc are part and parcel of the game....generally I have posted on the really tough racing but my bread and butter is tracks like Southwell where there is a definite draw bias and lots of horses that wont act on the fibresand.
As for keeping a record of results....I only just have time to post and everyones results will be different depending on what price taken...did they go each way 123 or 1234...did they lay off in running etc and supplying figures would just lead to arguments.
hope that answers most of what you asked....I would never discuss exact profit figures...not sure many would divulge their wages on a forum...hopefuly keep a daily thread going until Ascot at least but these wont have a write up as long as todays as the night racing kicks in....in a nutshell...the longer the write up on a horse...the more I fancy it...utc..

I get what people think when they see someone posting bet's up daily, you will lose eventually and your all mugs.In 99 out of a 100 cases it is true. But I have watched this guys posts for a few years on the other forum aswell. He Is no mug,yes he will have losing days it is impossible not to,but when the hard work pay's off you can reap big rewards.I personally remember I think it was 3 horses all at double figure prices posted up advising each way doubles etc, they all rolled in and you could of won a few grand for probably around £20.I think he is worth keeping on the right side of for someone who likes a bet everyday (I don't),because when it comes off it pay's.But has he say's it's all about taking the price and laying the horse off to make a profit when odds shorten.I know people who are making a healthy 2nd wage doing this, but you need to have patience and time something I do not have. For me please keep posting because I find it interesting and now and again I will have a go.

Happy. Thanks a lot for sharing the work you have put into your selections. I placed a £1 Lucky 15 (£15) on 4 of your selections this morning; Bushel, Tatting, Among Angels and Gallery Exhibition. £15 has returned £449 with Among Angels the only one not to win (3rd!). Fantastic work. It was over £5000 back if that one had gone in. Much appreciated.

I had a little tickle on Next Stage (Newmarket 3.30). Oisin Murphy has a 60% strike rate when riding for Godolphin

Cheers all
thats a good trick blackstock picking the right 3...nice 1.
should have been more winners...top mission traded 1.05 ( 20/1 on ) and prince of time 1.2 ( 1/5)
PRINCE OF TIME got a poor ride...you lose lengths and lengths at southwell on that rail....that horse is extremely well handicapped at southwell over todays trip but wouldnt want Rodriguez to ride again...the other bet in the race TRUST ME BOY will be a bet for us if coming back to course over a mile...staying on into 5th after not going the pace today....BUSHEL and TATTING both had good southwell jockeys and it showed...both scruffy winners but they were always on the fastest part of the track down the centre.
hope some of you will do me a favour....when people come on moaning just copy and paste my 12 47 message to them will you....I need to be finding winners not messing about on here....will probably post late tonight for tomorrow...get that oddschecker on...utc.

I threw a few quid at some of happys selections over the weekend and got diddly squat. Didn't bother today!

So I feel I am partially to be credited for this good turnout =)

Well done to all who won!
