Thanks to everyone that replied to my thread about being a "old/young" Dad on the other site, I couldn't get back on for some reason to post and it wouldn't let me register again! As some of you know Kell and I lost our baby on this day a year ago at 16 weeks and Kell had to do one of the most heart breaking things I've ever seen in my life and give birth to it. Well a couple of weeks ago we went for ,the 12 week scan and everything was fine in fact the baby was really active, on Monday we had to go and see our consultant, obviously we were both extremely worried even more so when he asked us if we'd had a scan that morning to which we hadn't. So off we went for the scan, I have never been so nervous and scared, the consultant did his thing and there on the screen was our baby, heart fluttering away and moving about! The relief for us both was immense! Still a way to go but everything is looking good.

Congrats WestMids! We went through something very similar in 2012 and it was and still is a truly heartbreaking time.

I'm pleased to say we now have two beautiful girls and I'm sure only happy times will be with you and your wife from this day on too!!

Best of luck!!

Glad to hear all is going well so far WMC and hope that continues to be the case. We recently lost what would have been our 2nd child during pregnancy and the only saving grace we could find was that it happened relatively early in the pregnancy so we didn't have to go through having to give birth like yourselves and several others we know have.

I know we will both be terrified should we ever find out we are expecting again but I am certain it will not stop us.

Good luck to you all :)

Got to go for a scan because the midwife couldn't find a heart beat! Wish us luck. So frustrating and upsetting!

Wonderful West Mids - there is nothing quite so precious.

Enjoy her to the full, they don't stay that age for long.

West Mids, you'll be fine. I was 41 when my son was born. He'll be 22 in a couple of months and as he is a strapping 6ft 3ins comes in handy when I foolishly decide to do a bit of DIY. He doesn't run out of steam as quickly as I do.
