Every time I've seen Wright as a pundit and we're mentioned, it's like he never played for us. Like we're just another club.

Wright is a terrible pundit ,semi literate and a tool close to Merson levels .Though for someone who played a couple of cameos and nothing more for us you can't exactly expect him to have any loyalty to be fair

To be fair, Heaton should have gone, though, shouldn't he? Saha was onside going from the replays.
I'm delighted he didn't though, obviously

How anyone can say Ian Wright played 'a couple of cameos' just beggars belief! Ian Wright got us to the championship! No question about it! What he brought to our club was absolutely awesome: he definately scored at least 1 winning goal (but I think 2?), plus bringing fans back in their droves, motivating the team and giving Stan a right good boost! Anyone who was at Scunthorpe can have no doubt about how chuffed he was. I'll always be grateful, and he'll always be a claret for me!

Remember him at the far post for a last minute corner at Scunthorpe turning to the away fans with spit coming out of his mouth shouting " What's the f---ing score at Wrexham ??? " always be a Claret legend and definitely one of our greatest ever signings .. Played an important part in where we are today

Ref blew for off side why should Heaton have been sent off game was stopped. If it has of been active do you honestly think Englands number one would have tripped him ?

This, Heaton was well aware he was offside.

Nothing against the bloke, but he is a useless pundit!Forget the pen debate that was embarrassing, but If you listened to his analysis of Gray's goal he said so and so gives it away and Boyd has a simple pass for gray to score.I'm sorry but the ball for the goal was world class he was screened by two palace players and had the vision to see that with the outside of the boot superb!

He's mediocre (at best) as a pundit, but he was fabulous for us! I'd put his signing on a par with Joey Barton in terms of timing and impact. Both absolute one offs that did more for Burnley than we really did for them. Although it might be argued that we allowed them both to end their playing careers with dignity and on a reasonable high.

I did wonder about this, but the counter argument is why trip him at all if the ball's already dead?

Wright one of best players to wear a Burnley shirt. Wright passionate but unfortunately crap pundit.

The ball was rolling straight towards Heaton, he was intending to kick it back up the field knowing the ball was dead, and Zaha then knocked the ball away and ran into Heaton's leg. If the same sequence had happened and Heaton had been wrong about the whistle beibg blown, he would have been sent off. But IMO if he hadn't heard the whistle, he wouldn't have tackled Zaha like that.

I was at the game. I thought Tom would get a red card. Didn't understand why Burnley got a FK. Pretty sure Zaha was not offside. Just seen it on MoTD. Nice to get a decision that has gone our way. 10 points for the Lino.

Just seen it again on MOTD, and there's no way Heaton knew the ball was dead.

wright is a lucky man, he can barely speak, and yet he picks up thousands each year because some unimaginative idiot decided he was capable.
He is a moaning clown if his pet london sides lose.
What a travesty the BBC see fit to keep shoving the dimwit in front of the cameras.
He has never had a good word to say about Burnley .
My dog Lola could articulate football better than him. Useless.

Maybe - but it looked to me more like he wasn't playing a tackle at all, he was playing a ball and the ball was unexpectedly moved.

He's absolutely right. Zaha WAS marginally onside. And it should've been a sending off. But in a game full of mistakes, zaha was awarded a free kick in the first half on the edge of our box for slipping.

As SD always states it's fine margins. Think we got lucky Zaha's penalty appeal and Heaton's challenge on him. On another day both decisions could have gone against us. As for Wright, a very important player for us in his brief spell. As a pundit I turn the sound down when he's on.

I assumed Zaha knew the whistle had already gone. He didn't seem to react to Tom's challenge as far as I could tell. On several other occasions when he felt decisions had gone against him he was very vocal.
Wright is obviously and understandably a Palace/Arsenal fan. Playing for us came out of a loyalty to Stan but he was thoroughly professional and committed at all times. Probably the difference in the end that helped get us promoted. There are times as a pundit I thought he might make more of that but he has a tendency to gloss over anything other than the peak of his top-flight career.

If the linesman puts his flag up it's offside. Heaton could have broken Zaha's leg and it still wouldn't have been a free kick or a penalty. We were on the receiving end of the opposite outcome at Arsenal remember. Had the linesman put his flag up they wouldn't have unfairly been awarded the last minute penalty. What goea around comes around.
Also last week against United we had the free kick given for Bailly going through the back of Gray, only for it to be correctly over ruled by the linesman calling offside.
The linesman made a bad call yesterday and it helped us. The referee made the right call on the penalty though and I'm glad the pundits on MoTD cleared that up after Jonathan Pearce was making out it was a stone wall penalty?! It felt like his commentary was biased yesterday to be honest. Prick.

As a player Wright was full of passion and had to win, which unfortunately makes him a shocking pundit. He's even worse when it's England.
The BBC like to dress him up as a bit of a character who speaks his mind. The reality is that he's rubbish.

I think Heaton knew the ball was dead - the flag had long since gone up.

If I could hear the whistle blow near the back of our stand well before the Heaton tackle then I'm pretty sure both Heaton and diver zaha did too.
I presume that the booking zaha got over in the far corner was for simulation. Hes as bad as Vince hilaire was.

Players like Zaha and Sterling build a rod for their own backs. If they cut out the simulation they would get more decisions in their favour.

I've always been a touch disappointed about Wright's attitude towards us in the media, post playing for us. I was never disappointed by his attitude whilst playing for us.

It's what you expect from BT Sport though. Amateurish at best. It took the commentators 4 goes to get the right player after Tarka was hit on the head with a lighter despite his face being visible throughout!

I don't mind Wright as a pundit, but he's so passionate they should avoid putting him on games where he has an allegiance.
