Today I heard that Peter is very poorly in hospital. I'm sure every Claret wishes him a full recovery and I'm sure on behalf of all Burnley-Swindon- Blackpool supporter, our thoughts are with him and his family.

That is a huge shock. Bought my first Burnley shirt off him, at his market stall. He had to post one to me, as it was between seasons. Had great chat. So sad.

My first claret hero as a lad.
A tremendous footballer who always gave 100%
Remember being all star struck, when I saw him on his stall in the market a couple of years later. I needn't have worried. He was a humble, very likeable gentleman.
RIP

This is terrible.
My favourite payer, when it's not Billy Hamilton. (Struggle to separate the two, but not today. Today it's Peter Noble)
My joy of the day has been totally destroyed. God only knows how his family must be feeling. I'm gutted.
In Bournemouth, I shall wear my "Peter Noble V shirt".
RIP Uwe, you are a legend. I won't forget you.

I was good friends with his youngest daughter at primary school, and both he and his wife were always welcoming to a noisy bunch of kids playing in the house. We spoke many a time when he had the stall and he always asked after my boys if I didnt have them with me.
RIP Peter, you were a truly lovely man.

Signed up just to post on this thread.
I lived across the road from Peter for basically all my childhood years - what a kind, friendly, honest bloke he was.
Sorted me out with some new predators from his stall in the market when I started playing footy!
Absolutely devastating news, RIP Peter Noble.

I'm too young to have seen him play but was a regular customer at his stall.
I particularly remember buying a pair of goalie gloves and him giving me some tips.
Lovely bloke.

Terrible news on today of all days. He was such a lovely man. Football wise, if that matters, I have an image in my mind of the way he used to
spring up in the air and hover like a graceful bird. God bless Peter, will miss seeing you around.

He gave us some memorable moments. He was Spring-heeled, leaping higher than he should have been able to for his height, and his penalty taking earned us quite a few points. A true gent and always ready to chat about his career. RIP Peter

As a Burnley fan from the early 70's and as a young boy playing for the Junior Clarets, Peter Noble was an absolute hero to me, he used to treat all the Junior Clarets brilliantly and often spoke with us and gave us encouragement. Followed the Clarets all over the country with my Dad and will always remember the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa when Uwe scored both goals ( think the OG was a wicked deflection though) RIP Peter Noble and sincere condolences to his Family and Friends.#PeterNobleLegend

Just like that he's gone , goodness lost for words as one minute i was hoping he would recover then next i am writing this .
Saw him play so many times and again saw him in his stall in the market hall over and over and over again , now used to just like walking past the stall to see if i could see him .
So much to remember him by but two game stick in my mind .
The goal at Highbury in the 1-0 win and the 4 goals he scored at home in the 4-4 draw against Norwich or Charlton can't remember which .
A legend

Peter Noble has been ill for some time and I'm not surprised at today's news. I'm shocked though. I spent many hours talking to him in the market hall, as many did. Lovely man. He's at peace now and my thoughts are with his wife Jenny and his two daughters.
What a player he was for us.
I'll get something on site as soon as I can.

Also bought a shirt off Peter , lovely bloke.
Used to work with a lad from Leeds who played 5 a side against him when Peter was in his 50s. He said he was still fit as a fiddle and always used to leave one on him, that was for Hunter I think he said!
Started watching the Clarets in 78 so he was one of my first football memories with his distinctive look. Scored at Deepdale in my first away game.
RIP Peter Noble
