Just getting too much.
Within 10 years there will be a game where there will be applause for all 90 minutes.
Just saying like

Agreed. Far too many minutes applause at matches these days.

Regarding the ones at Turf Moor, I've stopped acknowledging these minutes applause now. It's got ridiculous. I go to the game to forget about the daily grind, to enjoy the day. The last thing I want is someone's personal grief forced on me.

We have one game every year to remember those who we've lost, and that's the game where I'll gladly clap and show respect. Why is one person's family member more important than any other Claret?

I too have stopped acknowledging them. Their ubiquitousness has rendered them utterly meaningless.

They should be reserved for ex-clarets that have passed away together with anyone who held a season ticket for 100 consecutive years.

The applause is losing its meaning now.

I was involved with the idea of the annual minute's silence which is held before a home game in January. I got some stick on the message board for that, particularly from the poster andywharton, but once a year, remembering everyone I think is the best way to do things.

For ex-players, doing something before the next home game is fine and I would hope there will be something for Uwe next week.

And we had a minutes silence before kick-off for Eddie Howe's mother before a game I recall.

What was that about?

No, Wade, you're right to post it as it brings it to the away fans attention so they're aware of it. A lot of gripes on here are about the ones at Turf Moor.

Couldn't agree more. The 'one game' every year to remember those we have lost was a great idea put forward. No need for any other games for this purpose.

It all began with the death of the Princess of Wales. Stoicism was once a national characteristic of the British.

There's a big difference between a minutes applause for an ex player/legend, and a fan from another club or even your own club who you have no connection with .

My tortoise 'Blakey' named after Glen Little passed this week. He was 7 which in human years is 56....anyone know if any of these minutes are still available for an applause?
