I'll never forget Thommos reaction to his strike - "like , did I just do that?".
Had forgotten however those shocking ref decisions in the first half!

We've been so fortunate to experience some great days over the last 8 or 9 years. We certainly shouldn't take anything for granted. This game was just the beginning.

My ticket got lost for this one, so i had to go into the home end. Managed to sit in the South Stand right next to the away end. Obviously couldn't contain myself towards the end and it was clear to everyone i was a Claret. I got escorted out by the stewards but amazingly to my surprise, they took me through an internal door and let me go into the away end. Top Stewards, Top Game, Top Result

Which goal does everybody prefer? I like Thompson's but my favourite is Pato's - it was quite an incredible shot really. Probably one of my favourite ever Burnley goals.
"Ooh, he had to steady himself there"

If I was to list my top five memorable games, that one is well up there. Watching that Paterson shot from behind the goal was something else... it was like slow motion and you knew was going in as soon as it left his foot.

That's what I always remember! I actually shouted don't shoot from there!
Also I cant believe we went through that playoffs without conceding a goal. Considering Coyle isn't remembered for his defenses.

Good point re not conceding. Carlisle and Caldwell were incredible in the playoff final. I'm not sure they missed a header that day!

Wade overlapped down the right hand side but Pato just kept cutting in on his left(weaker) foot. How many people, like me, shouted 'where are you going?'

I remember listening to the game on BBC radio 5, Mark Bright was co-commentating.
Sounded like their main fan. I couldn't believe how biased he was ! "C'mon Reading , you can do this lot, they aren't that special "
hated him from that day till this.

Certainly one of my top ten games ever! Turned out it was well worth the six hours spent queueing for tickets on a bank holiday Monday and taking a day off work. The one thing I noticed watching those clips is that my reaction to seeing Coyle celebrating has significantly calmed. Perhaps time, along with his sterling work down the road and the fact we've actually managed to stay up in the prem this year means the wounds are finally starting to heal for me?

Why do goal that go in off the bar always look so good
Watched this at home with brother, father-in-law & few others.
Mrs W was upstairs out of the way and said the house shook when we all jumped up to celebrate.
My dad was on holiday for this game and was on the phone to me when the final whistle went making sure that we had the ticket arrangements sorted

Fantastic stuff. Still gives me goosebumps seeing those goals.
I always remember leaving burnley on the playoff final day at a ridiculous time in the morning. The amount of mini buses, coaches, buses was unreal. Many of the said mini buses and buses were in a right state. Good times!!

As a Reading based Claret this was very special .The day at Wembley was too tense and it only sunk in as we walked back to the car passed the Sheffield United fans who most of them had the class to congratulate us

Akin to Keane`s goal against Brighton last season, those two beauties ALWAYS give me goosebumps.
p.s. COMPLETELY forgot about Little`s move to Reading!

I was thinking today about which players from the play-off final would make it:
1. in a Dyche team?
2. In a PL team now?
Any suggestions?

I think Dyche would have liked Wade Elliott and Graham Alexander in particular. Maybe Thompson and Paterson as well but I'm less sure about those two.

just watched the whole game. Great memories, and we played some nice football out from the back.
Watching it after so many years I have to say 4th tier football was better then than now (in my opinion of course)
