Are you including national stadiums?

Cheeseon, you're correct! That didn't take long to work out. I wonder who supports them and why they aren't a major team in Glasgow? They've got the ground.

Hampden Park is slightly smaller than St James Park, so it can't be correct.

Binont, what's your top seven? According to my source, Hampden Park is the 7th largest football league stadium. (Wembley is not included as it's not a football league ground, as yet.)

I think you're right, Binont. Hampden Park is the 8th largest. My source (
http://www.worldstadiums.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) has West ham still playing at the Bolyen Ground, I've just checked. And Liverpool now, so it's the 9th because Glasgow Rangers also have a bigger stadium according to that source. Just goes to show that the Internet can't be trusted.

There is a reason why putting them in order is significant and it forms an extra quiz question.

Strangely, some of the World's biggest stadiums belong to College / University teams playing American Football. The pitch dimensions are smaller than our version and, therefore, the stands are even higher than we usually see. Added to this is the fact that they only play 6-8 games a season.
The night before a game, Texas A&M University have something called 'Yell Practice' which is basically a rehearsal of their fans chants. Yell Practice is often attended by more than 50,000 students and fans.
Bonkers.
Kyle Field, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. Capacity 102,733.
Tiger Stadium, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Capacity 102,321.

I think that is the correct order. Well spotted. The London stadium is actually 66,000 but only has a working capacity of 57,000 because of 9000 unlicensed seats.
