Brady wants to die. He's wanted to die for the past two decades. If it were possible, I'd keep the despicable bugger alive for as long as possible.

An anonymous spokesman at his hospital said they were "prepared for his death".

Presumably means they've got the balloons and party poppers in.

Perhaps when he dies his body is put somewhere secret and when any relative asks where he is they are told **** off

"The serial killer has been ill for some time and is being looked after by specially-trained nurses." BBC news

Why ? I'm struggling to get someone to care for my very ill 89 year old dad, and this 2hat gets the
special treatment.

Talk about assessing priorities ffs.

May it be a hugely painful, incredibly long and drawn out death with the evil ****** begging to be released from his misery. I hope the only medical aid that is provided is to prolong his suffering, not to ease it in anyway.

And yes, inhumane it may be but some waive their right to any level of compassion.

It's a shame Harold Shipman isn't alive, he could have taken a look at him and given him the once over.

can he not have one of those nerve-numbing drugs administered in capital punishment executions, the ones that don't always work in sequence, so you're still alive, but nobody can tell because you can't move..... and then can we let rats into his cell to do their thing....

Should be put on the electric chair on lower voltage to cook slowly. The evil b*stard will be burning in hell soon enough though. Not one respectable human being on the planet will miss the evil monster.

The one person in my mind tonight with this news is Keith Bennett's mum. She passed away nearly five years ago without ever knowing where her son was buried. I don't wish death on anyone, and I won't rejoice tonight, but I just hope his death proved to be a painful one.

BURN IN HELL CHILD KILLER

Re: Ian Brady

I look at this with a little bit of strangeness, because ultimately, death comes to us all. He is now dead, and the only ones who are bothered are us left behind. But, in death, he has slipped away, his body protecting him in his final hours by providing it's own pain relief and it's own mechanisms in preparation for death. The slowing of breathing, a lowering heart rate. No panic, nothing scary, just feeling tired, then going to sleep, forever.

I am too young to know the effects of the Moors Murders, but of course a tragedy like this, and a notorious man such as Brady never deserved anything other than what he got. I don't celebrate people's deaths, but I think this one is welcomed if not only for the fact it can be some kind of closure on the whole saga, albeit not for the victims and indeed the family of the lad they never found.

This is where I waver over my opinion of the death sentence. He wanted to die. He hated prison and it was the best punishment for him.

But, Brady made sure he kept some power by never divulging Keith's burial site. I don't know if for that reason it would have been better to hang them both, and try to let Mrs Bennett move on in some way.

An awful man who lived a truly wretched life bringing nothing but pain and misery to those he encountered - no wonder he wanted to die! What makes somebody like Brady tick is beyond my comprehension.

Totally agree. I hoped for years She would have her son returned for burial. He should be lying alongside his Mum.

If the Police asked for 10,000 volunteers to turn out to dig the Moors, I would give a weekend of my time.

We know who did the crime so it would only be a case of recovering remains to be buried by his Mother.

No more taxpayers money to be spent on keeping the evil monster locked up now. I hope they feed the remains to rats although probably a bit unfair on them and dissolve the monster's bones. There had better not be any taxpayer funded funeral.

The one thing this country has wrong is keeping people like this alive. Over 50 years in prison with many in the mental hospital.
The cost must of been over 20m to the taxpayers. Sickening.

I'm greatly saddened that I no longer believe in the afterlife and that this evil git gets spared the hell he deserves.

Keeping him alive is one thing, keeping him alive with specialist care whilst our glorious, heroic, old folk live in squalor and struggle to access social care - that's quite another.

If he had wanted death so much, it could have been, and perhaps was, guaranteed upon him disclosing the location of Keith Bennett.

Instead he continued to torment the authorities and the families of the victims. He was afforded a level of respect not considered once by himself and he should have been held in the most basic of conditions, chained and force fed. The cost of his care should have been minimal, the cost of his torture should have been far more.

Two wrongs, in a very few instances, can go some way to making a right.
