Hughton is a superb manager. I'm sure he will go onto bigger and better things than the BHA.

Obviously done a good job at Brighton, particularly this season when it is difficult after what happened to them last season. Did he take Newcastle up as well and then get sacked in the following season?

That's Geordies for you. Only a top, top manager for their massive club, funded of course, by someone else. They have hounded out every manager since Kevin Keegan, except Shearer of course, who was such a failure that even he realised it and jumped ship.

Got sacked at Norwich after keeping them in the Prem. The fans never liked his style of football. He did follow Lambert though who did a great job there. I'm glad he's making them eat their words now.

Doesn't the World cup count as a major trophy for West Ham

Does the Championship title not count as a major trophy?

Sam Allardyce too. I've never heard him give any respect or any acknowledgment to the other opposing side whatsoever when his side has been beaten. He even had the audacity to suggest none of City's 5 goals should have stood when they battered down his Palace.

No it doesn't.
Although several cups that might be regarded as Mickey Mouse are included.
These honours consist of the English football championship—The Football League up to 1992 or Premier League thereafter—the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the FA Community Shield and its predecessor the Sheriff of London Charity Shield, the now-defunct Full Members Cup and League Super Cup competitions for clubs during the ban from European competition, the League Centenary Trophy for top clubs to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Football League, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League or its predecessor the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, the now-defunct UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Intertoto Cup competitions, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup which was merged with the Intercontinental Cup.

When we lost 5-3 at West Ham, having been 5-0 down at one point, our manager was on Goals on Sunday the following day and blamed the referee Chris Foy for all five goals. He was laughed at by Chris Kamara who I assume thought it was unbelievable. I was baffled, Foy wasn't to blame, but it all became clear a few weeks later when we realised our manager was no more than a lying Scotsman.

CH is a good manager ,and has shown time and again how he can get sides right up there in the champ. However, he's had 2 prem sackings and has always had a good budget. Always comes across though as a decent intelligent manager and doesn't bitch and cry like some. That said some of the toadying, kowtowing and slavish praise he gets on here you'd think he was some football demigod

I think the main reason people like him, me included, is the fact he doesn't bitch and cry as you've highlighted. How many managers have given us any credit over the past 3 years or so? I'm not suggesting opposition managers should be waxing lyrical about us, but when you compare how Sean speaks after games to others we certainly don't seem to get much respect. I think Conte came across well this season, that's about it. Everyone else we took points off just put it down to them being crap rather than us being half decent. How many times has Sean said the opposition are "a fine team" this year? It doesn't hurt to admit every so often that your team was out fought or out played. The problem is we're Burnley and no one can ever accept that's the case!!

Wouldn't Brighton have had to have won something else to qualify for the charity shield?

I wonder at what point we would do something similar for Dyche?

Ronald Koeman: "It took 30 minutes to understand what we needed to do today because Burnley were a top opponent. They showed more aggression than we showed. We were lucky not to be down in the first 30 minutes"
Jose Mourinho: "I'm very happy. It's not easy to win here"
Jurgen Klopp: "Burnley were always in the game, it was intense and we had to fight."
Marco Silva: "Of course it is frustrating. It was a tough, tough game. It is not easy to play against Burnley."
Arsene Wenger: "Burnley are well organised, they make the game simple but efficient."
Francesco Guidolin: "It's a good start against a good team at a difficult ground but we are happy."

They won The Southern League and then beat Villa I think (I'll check) who had won The Football League (we're talking 1910 here)
The 1910 FA Charity Shield was the third Charity Shield, a football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Football League and Southern League competitions. The match was played on 5 September 1910 between 1909–10 Football League winners Aston Villa and 1909–10 Southern League champions Brighton and Hove Albion. The match was played at Stamford Bridge, London, and ended with a 1–0 win for Brighton and Hove Albion. The goal was scored by Charlie Webb, an amateur, with 18 minutes of play remaining.
In the five years that the Charity Shield was contested by the winners of the Football League and Southern League between 1908 and 1912, this was the only occasion on which the Southern League champions prevailed. The victory remains Brighton and Hove Albion's only national honour to date.
Apart from The Southern League which they won, once and The Charity Shield the following year. Brighton have won Third Division South (1957-58) and it's equivalents (2001-02; 2010-11). The Fourth Division (1964-65) and it's equivalent (2000-01)
The Sussex Senior Challenge Cup (13 times) and The Sussex Royal Ulster Rifles Charity Cup (twice)
