I almost met Sir Roger Moore back in November 2002 when I was staying at the Royal Livingstone Hotel in Zambia.
My Son and I had just been on a speedboat on the Zambezi River and when we got back to our Hotel we were told that we had just by minutes missed seeing Sir Roger Moore there.
Apparently he was there doing charity work and think he was very. active with his charity work.
A very good man by all accounts

Sad news, always liked Roger Moore from his days as The Saint, Lord Brett Sinclair inThe Persuaders and of course as James Bond.
Did a lot of good work for charity and always came across as a down to earth chap who didn't take himself too seriously.
"Good night Meester Bond"

My fav Bond and a damn good chap by all accounts.
In around 2001/2002ish met him very briefly when he turned up totally unannounced at a Unicef charity evening .Myself and a few other ex services lads had done a marathon and other things (walks etc) and the eve was a thank you to all the many many people (ourselves included) involved over the previous yr or so. Roger presented a couple of awards and did an auction, stayed for a couple of drinks (gin and tonics not vodka martinis though) They found him a place at a table and he did a great little speech, funny and emotive which many in tears ,shook 100's of hands and was in great spirits.
Great innings Sir Rog

RIP
he was so good looking when young mmmm and played some good parts
But sorry did not like him as Bond, he tended to take the role in to more comedy/spoof for me and have to say D. Craig the best since Sir Sean.

Great Actor. His Bond films were in a different league to the current rubbish. Great in other films such as Wild Geese and North Sea Hijack. Will be missed. Just watched a bit of the Man with the Golden Gun the other day.

Not a great actor but blessed with huge charisma. A gentleman and a great, great humanitarian. Raised many millions for charity. Sad but a life fully lived.
