I wonder if it's people in the Republican party with links to the FBI & CIA who are leaking stuff about Manchester to the American press, trying to embarrass Mr Trump in revenge for him giving info to Russia?

the information wouldn't have gone to individuals identifiable as belonging to the GOP specifically. It would have been shared with the security agencies, so the leak is there

I think Trump does a good enough job of embarrassing himself - doesn't need anyone to do it for him!

The report who first leaked stated that a "close friend" in the FBI told him.

The US security services will have involved others such as CIA/FBI/Secret Service however would imagine only at a very senior level therefore some of these people are sharing/leaking info down the food chain or directly to the press. Either way it does not help anyone other than those that should be captured/interrogated to decide next steps and who else in the "cell".

They should as a nation be embarrassed and not just Trump/Republicans, it is a good example of what happens when you share info at this moment and all allies will be taking note of it.

It might be the Republicans (but probably not the party leadership) but i doubt it's for that reason. According to Lord Blair the same thing happened after 7/7.
