The FA Cup Final
Anyone looking forward to it? Chelsea should be overwhelming favourites but it is The FA Cup so who knows.
Both clubs have a great history in this competition so hope it should be a good game.
Still love the full days build up on terrestrial TV. Just a shame its a later kick off these days.

Re: The FA Cup Final
I can't say I'm looking forward to it, it just doesn't feel as big as it used to. But I'm sure I'll watch it with my 2 young nephews.
I'd like to see Arsenal win, just so their ungrateful fans can give their manager a bit of a breather.

Re: The FA Cup Final
FA Cup final eh! now there's a blast from the past, 70's football tournament right? the one abandoned some years back? I remember it well, funny hair cuts, really short shorts. Them were the days.

Surely the really big game (the potential £290m match) is on Monday isn't it?

Is there a reason for making it so late? Other than allowing people to make the very length drive from the north and south of London, to west London?Acting Claret wrote:When they move it back to 3pm, I'll be interested.

Re: The FA Cup Final
I'm off to Twickenham for the rugby Premiership final. 14.30 ko. I'll be finding a pub after that game and will have half an eye on the footy if its on screen there. I'm not overly interested, I don't particularly like or dislike either of the two teams involved (though not keen on Chelsea when Mou was there).
Re: The FA Cup Final
I'll be in Blackpool watching the rugby (summer bash).
Re: The FA Cup Final
I don't mind the 17.30 kick off, in fact I prefer it, if they ever revert back to15.00 I wouldn't be at all bothered, in the slightest, whatsoever.Acting Claret wrote:When they move it back to 3pm, I'll be interested.

Re: The FA Cup Final
Didn't they initially move it the other season when they played it before the final game of the season due to a Euro/World Cup?FactualFrank wrote:Is there a reason for making it so late? Other than allowing people to make the very length drive from the north and south of London, to west London?
FA explanation for continuing with it
What time is kick-off?
The action will begin at 5.30pm. Here is the explanation from the FA: "Traditionalists may argue for a 3pm kick-off but, quite simply, we want as many people across the world to enjoy this event. The FA Cup final is the highlight of the domestic football calendar and it attracts a huge domestic and international audience.
"The 5.30pm kick-off slot on Saturday attracts the most viewers domestically and globally."

I'm going on a big match. Cobh Ramblers vs Waterford Utd. 3rd vs 1st in Irish Div1. but only 2 points between them.
745 ko so I might just catch first half of t'other game.

If we hadn't stopped at the Copthorne Hotel at Stamford Bridge this week I would have forgot it was tomorrow.

Re: The FA Cup Final
I'll be watching Chelsea beat Arsenal and deservedly win another trophy.
As for "Arsenals ungrateful fans " - ungrateful for what? 15 years + of never mind not winning the league, but not even challenging?
Of the "big sides" In the 10 years that they have been coming to Burnley they have been the least impressive IMO.

If it was a choice between the FA cup final and the play off Final, I'd definitely
go for the play offs.
Far more entertaining.

Just sat next to an American on a flight to the UK from Washington DC, and he's coming over for the Championship play-off "so he can participate in the atmosphere." Hope he can get a ticket - but good for him!

Half watching. No massive interest in football that doesn't involve Burnley to be honest.
Need to pack it in with the singer warbling the national anthem though.

I'd love Arsenal to win this but that's so offside it hurts. Ramsey is clearly involved and part of Courtois' decision-making process.

Re: The FA Cup Final
Sanchez goal wasn't an offside because the ball wasn't passed forward it was Sanchez who played it forward to himself (however unknowingly) and then Ramsey was behind the ball when Sanchez shot.
