What Now For Rovers?

Mowbray says he's staying on after talks with the Venkys, who say they'll provide him with
some dosh for new players. They've said that before, of course. Depends how much.
Apparently, Mahoney's going to Dumpdale and he might be followed out the door by others.

Think they've a chance of promotion, or more likely to take another drop?
Personally, I think they're in the sh!t.

They've got to slash their wage bill and running costs to fit into a revenue stream of approx £7million or face an embargo etc.
Promotion won't save them from an embargo either.

Mowbray is either on a very good contract or doesn't know about the lack of communication between Venkys and previous managers.

League 2 could beckon soon, better squads than theirs from this season have struggled to get out of league 1.

Oh and I'd expect their Academy to drop a couple of categories.

We can use them as competitive experience for our youngsters.

Mahoney on his way out for a fraction of his value according to LET ( Danny Ings ring any bells)

We got the record fee for an out of contract youngster last time I checked.

If all clauses are met we will receive a total of £10 million pretty much.
What's the issue with what we got for Ings again?

There is only one way they are going and that's down, this academy they keep banging on about is going to need to provide most of a Div 3 squad capable of surviving. Tony might get 250k to spend if he is lucky and will need some good free players willing to play for peanuts as the window is shutting.

It's going to be mighty fun to watch though.
I want them to face what every single one of them wanted for us 30 yr ago and fail, never to be seen again.

I'm actually quite happy that they leave Mowbray in charge, but I'd much rather they reinstate Horse-Face.

At their final league game, before they slide into the abyss of non-league football, I want the Rao family to all attend wearing Burnley shirts.

Given their financial position and the restrictions on wages, i can only see admin. Income of c.7.5m, running costs of 10m a year and a wage bill of c.25m. They are a basket case and i am loving it. They came to bury us in 1987, but didn't bank on the mother of all resurrections. This has a long way to run yet. ....

Their wage bill will be a lot less now they've lost 13 or so first team players and let go of 9 youth lads.
More need to go yet though.

Could they start next season with a 12 point deduction and about 4 professionals ?doomed before a ball is kicked would be fun.

I think there are still people who look at the ings money and see it as a transfer fee, when it wasn't.

Had he been under contract, I think the figure we actually got would've been double what we ended up with.
