El Gato Negro, superb tapas restaurant on King Street. It has a rooftop terrace too with a retractable roof - lovely up there on a warm afternoon / evening.

No worries, the search facility is pretty useless anyway, to be honest.

Albert's Shed next to the canal in Castlefield is worth considering.

Smart place, good food and service.

San Carlo. Classy, old school, you will feel like a celebrity but don't let them fill your glass up too quickly. El Gato Negro is fast becoming a favourite. Tasty food good value cool atmosphere. Also not sure of the name but think it's the Alchemist in Spinningfields where I had the best rib-eye steak with a big lump of sweet tasting garlic and chips cooked in heaven. I also love Hawksmoor in London and note they have opened in Manchester.

Try Thai is the best thai food ive had anywhere. Its in china town. Fantastic food. Nice restaurant. Good service.

Ziyas in rusholme is the best indian curry ive had in this country. 10 out of 10. Its that good. And its beautifully clean inside. Open kitchen. Modern. Foods cheap enough too although beer knocks price up.

Both of them are absolutely top quality.

I was not impressed with dimitris. And i love greek food.

El Rincon de Rafa. Traditional independent Spanish restaurant in a basement behind Deansgate. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food too.

Hard rock. Never had anything but a good time in there, even when the foods crap! (if it's your scene)

My son in law has worked at several of the 'top' restaurants in Manchester. He walked out of San Carlos for reasons that put me off ever eating there again
He highly recommended Rosso top of KingStreet

Try Thai best thai I have had too

Dimitris is poor imitation of Greek food

If you like steak, then the Grill on the Alley, is excellent. Just off deansgate near bridge street.
