Former Blue Peter presenter John Noakes has passed away at the age of 83.

Just heard on the news. Sad times.

Another who has suffered from Alzheimer's for a number of years.

How sad, Noakes laughing as the Elephant dragged the zoo keeper, through the Elephant's pee will live long in the memory RIP JN.

Really sad news, rip John.

As someone who has witnessed at first hand how awful Alzheimer's & Dementia are I would say it's a blessing that he is now at peace.

It might, to some, seem an awful thing to say, but it reaches a point when it is very much a blessing.

Like many on UTC, I grew up watching Blue Peter every week. John Noakes was always a good presenter alongside the others but he loved his dogs more I think. A sad loss.
