Have they got enough quality, even with one or two additions, to avoid a swift return to the Championship?

Think Brighton could have by the time the season starts.

Brighton will be splashing the cash to buy.
Probably be a whole new look to their team when they kick off the PL season.

Brighton will pour money into it, but it's going to boil down to who's the better manager.
Hughton is a nice bloke but is he cut out for PL manager?
Which achievement is better, promotion with Brightons resources or Huddersfield?

Udders will struggle unless they recruit big style.
Bottom three all season.

If Brighton don't get a decent forward in then they will be struggling for goals.
Huddersfield are already relegated.

Think they'll get Tammy Abraham then we'll see if he's the real deal.

After our dire away form this season it surely has to be six points from the Huddersfield fixtures.
That said, it's great to see them in the Prem.

May I suggest we worry about ourselves. Our results in the last third of the season were dire, lets hope we go into next season with a stronger 11 and different tactics, because we got found out in the last third of the season.

Huddersfield remind me of us when we won promotion in 2013/14. No doubt they'll be competitive but I think they'll fall short.
Brighton have a PL infrastructure and will probably be in a better position to recruit well, but both teams will be in and around us at the bottom.

Did we really? I could have sworn we won the matches we had to and tailed off a bit because we were pretty much safe with a few matches to go.

Two wins from last 16. You'd have to be a bit deluded, or completely blinkered, to think next season isn't going to be even tougher than last.

We almost got a point per game (14 points from those 16 matches) so it wasn't like we were struggling to get the points required. These days it looks like 36-37 points will almost certainly keep you up.

Well, we did play two meaningless games at the end. If either one had had resulted in a win it would have looked a bit different. But it shows that we had plenty to spare and we were never really in any danger of going down. I suspect had we needed more points towards the end we'd have got them.
The fact that we didn't fall into the bottom three (after the first game) probably upset a few as it didn't give them enough ammo to complain about the season!

We finished SIX points clear of the relegation zone. All Clarets fans would have taken that.

Huddersfield deserve their promotion, but are in a very similar situation to we we're when we went up under Coyle. They are a good Championship side but a long way from having a team capable of staying in the Premier League and will be nailed on favourites to go straight back down. I suspect, like we did, they will get some surprise results early on but over the course of the season they are really going to struggle. They were the one team out of the playoff contenders that I wanted to go up as they are the least well equipped to stay up. Both Fulham and Reading have recent Premier League experience, while Wednesday are just a bigger club that would have had a better chance of attracting quality players.

Huddersfield have more of a chance of staying up than we did , they have a chairman who actually puts his own money into the club and not take it out in bonuses or high interest rate payments.

Can see Huddersfield starting strongly because of the way they play, whether they could maintain it will depend on their ability to find a plan b once the PL teams find them out.
Brighton are harder to predict, think they'll be consistent throughout the season but whether that will be enough I'm not sure. Don't think their fans will stick with the team or manager if they're on a bad run and that could be a deciding factor.

It isn't about whose got the most money it's about getting in a manager who can do the best with what they get.

Echo what others have said about Brighton, they will splash alot of cash.. and under Houghton I expect them to have more than enough to fight relegation. Be abit like Bournemouth were their first season up imo.
They've splashed alot of cash (in Championship terms) on transfers/wages ever since they moved into their new stadium.

Wagner will acquire good potential players from Germany and build a tight motivated squad. We need to concentrate on adding quality to our own club.

I'll explain something for you.
Our board are trying to ensure the club is run in a self sufficient manner because its actually quite important that it is.
The odd bit of lending here and there, that gets repaid, is better then relying on someone to keep pouring money into a business because it doesn't encourage the business to stand on its own two feet.
If you're struggling with this can I refer you to numerous clubs that are or have been on their arse due to over reliance on a rich owner.
Rovers, Bolton, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Southampton, Liverpool and numerous others.

OK, Boro then.
Gibson pours money into the club, doesn't take it out and even writes it off when required and that worked out well for them this season.
Your first post sounded critical of how our club is run that's all, I merely pointed out the flaws in your comment.

You need to get a dictionary, or a better attitude. Expressing approval of what our board of directors has done is not sycophancy; it's a genuine opinion, well founded (IMO) in the club's current position. It may not be an opinion you share, but it's a valid opinion.

I think both will struggle, neither have premier league experience.
Huddersfield will to to emulate us , tight close knit squad try to keep that unity and hope that works.
Don't know what route Brighton will take but I assume throwing lots of money will be the way, maybe hughton will be savvy and try to keep the squad that got them up.

350m relatively speaking is bugger all. He could put all that in to transfers and he would still only be able to afford half of the united team that finished 6th! And thats before hes paid any of their wages.

That's fair enough, but I think there is a comparison there in terms of how our successful seasons almost came out of the blue after a couple of years of mediocrity, with a new manager playing a high energy game and getting the best out of players who hadn't really done it anywhere else. The size of the two clubs is also basis for comparison.
I reckon their season will pan out similarly to ours in 2014-15.

I think Brighton will be OK. They play decent football, have a good manager (with previous Premier League experience) and, when they go talking to players can offer them a club in easy range of the capital and in a valued area of the country. Whether that will enough to persuade a decent striker to sign on remains to be seen.

a lot will depend on the fixture list too. If you start with
Stoke
Swansea
West Ham
Burnley
Bournemouth
you might get a chance to put points on the board and create confidence and momentum
If you start with
Spurs
Arsenal
Liverpool
Man City
Southampton
you could well be screwed
That unexpected Liverpool win set us up for the season, it doesn't happen too often though

Well done to Huddersfield.
If they have any sense they'll spend minimally and hope they somehow stay up. Would be a massive risk for them to spend big.
On that basis it's my opinion they'll go down.

Will Wagner even be there next season, I have my doubts.
I personally don't think Brighton will throw that much money about, probably more than us but I just cannot see Hughton getting all starry eyed like Karanka did and sign the likes of Valdes and Negredo, One of the reasons Hughton went at Newcastle was because of loyalty to his existing squad rather than the flamboyant signings that were demanded.
We have taken 9 points in 13 games since we played Lincoln. That slump certainly concerns me going into next season and likely losing our best player. We will struggle getting a suitable replacement for Keane at what we are prepared to pay.
