Not now they've come up.
Could see it if they stayed down, but I reckon he'll sign a contract extension and be an important part of their PL campaign.

What were you saying by posting the link?
It's shite btw. Never in a million years, for two reasons.
Not good enough. 25 goal championship striker "struggles" to reach double figures in PL, but 10 goal championship striker is the answer????
Thudds want him to stay.
Either of those two reasons will be good enough for us NOT to be interested in him.

What a set of snipers!
Quicknick never said Reecey said something, and Reecy reacted to quicknick saying something he never said by saying he had never said that.

Some huge overreactions on here.
Rumours are all we have at this time of year so why shoot someone down for posting one?
Maybe some dicks prefer the threads about Brexit and other such nonsense. This is a football forum so all rumours are welcome.

If all true we'd have enough lb's to Chelsea them all out on loan worldwide!

At the moment I think Wells will get 10 premier league goals. The main guy in an attacking side has a real chance.

No thanks, why would we even want him? Reminds me of Fraizer Campbell, scores a few goals in the Championship.. but hardly scored in the Premier League.
Or hell even Dwight Gayle (although I rate Dwight Gayle more than Wells or Campbell) he can score a few in the Championship, but hasn't got double figures in the Premier League.
Gayle:
Peterborough Chmpish 29ap 13 goals
Palace Premier Lge 23ap 7 goals
Premier Lge 25ap 5 goals
Premier Lge 16ap 3 goals
Newcastle Chmpish 32ap 23 goals

Hmm, I'm sure Liverpool fans have an idea..

Oops, just checked and he only scored 2 against Liverpool in that game.. thought he'd scored an hatrick.

Wells is Championship in my opinion, poor signing if it happens.
Of the rumours I'd rather have Long and Walters.

We've been heavily linked with him on at least a couple of occasions in the past.

Decent player but I'm not sure he'd give us what we need at this level.
Used to have the same agent as Ings which might have been the reason for previous links. Not sure whether he does now or not.

All big mates aren't they - Wells, Ings and the agent?

Worth a 'punt' a few years ago when we in the championship as an unearthed gem, but at 27 with no top flight experience and not a proflic record, I think we can find a more suitable alternative.

After I posted this last night I went on Ceefax and seen they had signed an £8m striker.

Liked him when they were smashing it in Div 4, thought he might have been worth a punt in the championship.
Last season proved that punt would have been very speculative.
Not fit to lace Andre's boots, which is saying something.

Given just a rumour
But if Huddersfield were willing to let him go, why would we want him
Just another Scott Arfield

A couple of years ago, when he was at Bradford, it was rumoured we were after his. I would have been delighted had we got him then. I do think we need better today. I don't see him as good as AG, his record last season shows that. A good player, but not a prem striker.

Huddersfield offered him a deal but so far he's not signed. Plenty don't there no he would make the step up and I'd agree. He's at the top of his level and not pulling up many trees in the Championship.

Wouldn't say he's any worse an option, as third choice, than the rather limited Ashley Barnes.
We'd still need another first / second choice forward though.

Not too sure about signing Wells - if there is any truth in the rumour.
He's not really set the championship on light - don't think he has had as an effective a season as Vokes, Gray or Ings had and was far from prolific last season.
I know Barnes was not prolific in championship either but he has now had 2 decent seasons in the Premier League where he has been a handful for many teams and it's a good guess that few defenders relish the thought of playing against him.
Wells is not proven in Premier League and not really seen anything which suggests he can make that jump up as he has had plenty of time to prove himself as a top striker in the championship.
I think we need to buying a forward who is better than both Vokes and Barnes. We may even need 2 strikers better than both of them if Gray goes. For me Vokes and Barnes need to be our back up strikers if we are going to survive the loss of Keane in our defence.
The one single most important reason we stayed up last year was undoubtedly the consistency and standard of performances of our keeper and back four. Keane and his pace got us out of so many situations that I think it is virtually impossible to replace this loss (when it happens).
Our midfield and strikers were just about ok last year - there was a lot of chopping and changing and long periods of inconsistency from every single one of them - which is to be expected.
Next year I think we will need "big" seasons from at least 2 of the midfield / strike force if we are going to survive or push on again.
And that's why we I think we need better then Wells.

Dave Baldwin brought him in at Bradford and tried to bring him into Burnley before, but can't see this happening, although Huddersfield have apparently broke their transfer record on a Portuguese striker today so Wells may be surplus to requirements.
