I've proudly stood with Antifa at counter-demos, and will do in the future. Our grandparents in the Second World War were Antifascists, it's only fair we continue to fight for them.

My grandparents certainly didn't go around spitting at, and hitting people with sticks for example, people who didn't share the same the same views as them.
I'd like to bet most people who were around during the 2nd world war would shudder at the thought of being likened to antifa

Buzzfeed also have a story about how NPR (a publicly funded radio channel often referred to as "liberal") tweeted out the entire Declaration of Independence and some Trump supporters got really angry because they perceived it as propaganda.

In fairness anything remotely perceived as 'Anti-American' is unpatriotic. They are quite literally the most patriotic people for a country which has actually achieved very little. Kudos for the optimism!

It's somewhat ironic that they're craying against the document that made them a country, on the anniversary fo the day it was declared.
They also took particular offence at a section that said "A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people", which is funny.

The deeper irony is that they didn't gain independence until September 1783, but in true American form. They never let the truth get in the way of a good story
