Fantastic signing. Good to see we are now able to increase contract lengths due to our strong financial position. Well done

Really? Not many of us overly bothered by him leaving to be honest, we should get about 4 or 5 million for him which is around what he's worth. Good player on his day, should be a decent player for you but a poor attitude a lot of the time and not as good as he thinks he is (although still time to develop). Had his head turned when he thought the likes of Liverpool were in for him about 12 months ago and, no offence, has gone to a poorer team in the end to get premier league football.

Good luck with him, hopefully he does well for you and keep you up. Fingers crossed we'll be seeing him come up against us next season if we can push on and join you lot up there :)

(Burnley based Leeds fan by the way, so just as happy to see BFC doing well :) )

You'd hope there is provision in there should we not spend the full four years in the Premier League

Reading the Yorkshire Evening Post over the past week about little Burnley daring to take a player off the mighty Leeds. I'd beg to differ my friend.

I've nothing against Leeds personally but some of those posts did make me question myself!

8-) ....I'm on a beach 400 miles from Burnley, but if I try really hard I'm sure I can just see that bottom lip sticking out.

Quality signing, and the best thing available out of that Leeds squad by a distance.

It's what you get when players leave clubs because too many fans think they shouldn't and get all hot, bothered and bitter about it. I don't know about Liverpool, but he'd have joined us a year ago but for the idiot Cellino. He's certainly not gone to a poorer team as the respective league positions confirm.

Excellent signing is this, adds the needed competition for Ward. For me, Ward has been outstanding and my player of the year last season he will start the season, rightly, and take some shifting.

Will be interesting to see how the ward/Taylor situation plays out - as you say ward was excellent last season.

A poorer team than Liverpool, I think he meant.

Very good signing. Well done Burnley FC.

Welcome to Burnley FC, CT :D

Edit - I do think we should all refer to Charlie Taylor as CT to create confusion and chaos.

Sorry, poorer team than Liverpool I meant, will happily agree Burnley have done better in recent years than we have and have been run far more sensibly. I think my comments possibly aren't coming across as intended so I'll repeat - If he gets his head down he can be a very good player and he's a good signing for Burnley for sure especially for the money he'll probably end up costing.

No bitterness here at all, he's gone to a team in a higher league because he didn't want to stay, fair play to him. Personally I think Robertson at Hull will end up being the better player but he would have cost you at least double so Taylor is less of a risk.

Good luck this season :)

For a Leeds Utd fan, BackoffDave's contributions to this thread have been civil, measured, and polite. This tends to be an exception to the rule with Leeds Utd fans.

He is based in Burnley which explains his different approach to the residents of the rugby city

And yet the Loiners I have spoken to when attending the odd match at Headingly have always been very friendly and welcoming to an outsider like myself. It seems to be something about the Football fan in Leeds.

"I've been there since I was nine and I knew it was the right time. There were so many things that attracted me to Burnley; it ticks every box and it was a no-brainer really.

"That's the huge attraction of the Premier League, just everything about it. Week in, week out, you are playing teams like Chelsea and Manchester United, so I just can't wait to get started."

I am taking a punt that he wasn't attracted by the sunnier climes...

No ill feeling Dave. I have a Leeds mate and he's royally peeved at your constant underwhelming seasons, not to mention the owners. Best of luck to you. I just find it humorous reading some of the bitter posts on the Yorkshire Evening Post.

I'd suspect not and the most natural concluson would be bringing a right back to challenge Lowton.

He's an attacking left back, one would assume so.

Every Leeds fan I know (and there are many over here!) is gutted to lose Taylor. Hugely regarded as a massive talent with a great future ahead of him. I predict it will turn out to be business on a par with Trippier, Mee and Keane.

I bet Vokes will be rubbing his hands together at the thought of getting on the end of some of Charlie's crosses.

Could be the start of a beautiful claret and blue relationship.
