Anti anti-Defour

Many folk on here seem to think it relevant whether or not Defour smiles enough or interacts with his teammates, well JUST for those people...

Jack Cork`s first training session video from -0:28

Robbie Brady seems to be ALWAYS laughing and joking. Does this mean he doesn`t take training seriously enough??? Have a word, Sean!

If Defour smiled more he'd be worth at least £30 m. A fully fit smiling Defour maybe even £31 m!!

If we ever get to the Champions League final and remember, there is possibility of extra time, could we rely on him to complete 120 minutes?

Its not wise to smile when your trying to feign injury all the time ;)

Do I care if he smiles and interacts with his team-mates? Yes
Do I care if he looks glum on occasion? No
Do I care if he looks disinterested? Yes
Do I care if he can't complete 90 minutes? No (although he did complete 90 minutes last season for both us and Belgium)

I'd rather have 65 minutes of quality and then a sub, than 90 minutes of headless chicken chasing.

Does anybody care about headless chicken chasing?

"A fully fit smiling Defour maybe even £31 m!!"

Forget the smiling. I'm quite happy for him to be fit, scoring goals like he did against Hull and Brizzle last season ! :D :D :D

He was my hero after Roger Eli. I can't believe he only scored 6 goals for us...

On a serious note, I don't understand this obsession with some about his demeanor. We don't pay him to look happy. Who really cares? He is the most talented footballer at the club and if he can attain a reasonably good fitness level and SD play him in his most effective position, he will be a major player for us.

On a side note we are all different, some people are naturally very smiley and others not so, but it doesn't necessarily reflect their personality. Some of the most smiley outwardly gregarious people are often the most unhappy inwardly.

Took a bunch of pics with players after training today. Spookily the one I took with Defour is the only one that didn't come out <insert conspiracy theory here>!

My dodgy camera skills aside, he seemed happy enough to me both training and mingling with rest of lads. Here's hoping he has a big season for the Clarets!

I am not sure why fans put such a emphasis on Steven Defour's demeanour, What exactly do we want from him off the pitch.

From what I have seen he openly loves his family, he as interacted with clarets fans on social media forums in the past, he's returned to pre season training on time as expected, this is all pretty normal stuff. But he doesn't smile a lot, So What!

The guy is probably a class above any player we have had since the halcyon days of the 60s and early 70s but he is easily injured and not physically up to the demands of matches and training because of this. If he wasn't easily injured and struggling physically does anybody honestly believe he would be at Burnley and for a relatively small fee? because on the ball at times he is majestic. And I have never watched him play 65/70 minutes and thought what a lazy ******* and that's because he isn't.

He looks peed off when subbed off. Good! I would be more annoyed if he skipped to the side line kissed his replacement left heel lifted off the floor and then tickled everyone on the bench under the armpits on his way past.

I really hope he gets his head down avd shines in pre season. The most gifted of the current crop by a mile. I'd rather have a hour out of defour every week than not have him at all. WY to good to be on the bench.

"Headless chicken analogy"

The Headless Chicken is playing in Blue and White apparently. Defour is still with us and I like his quality. Can Sean adapt his style to benefit from that option?

Just speculation.

But could he be on his way out now?
He has tweeted about getting on a flight using Air Brussels.
Or is he simply going back home for the weekend?

Defour posted this on Twitter about ten minutes ago with a picture of himself in the burnley kit

For the love of the game #tb #burnleyfc #utc #clarets

I know I have stated he would be off as this was solid info and his habits which are well known around the clubs (40 a day). But I have never questioned his talent and feel he would be like a new signing if he had made his mind up to stay and wanted to become part of the Burnley family. I am hoping a preseason away with the lads has made him feel part of the family. A few encouraging words maybe from Dyche and his team and maybe now he feels up to speed with the rest of the squad. Really hope he stays and if he does it will because he has earnt it.
