Game of Thrones S7

Post by Smallpaul » Thu Jul 13, 2017 7:14 pm

Who’s ready to feast on the most epic show on television this coming Monday (2am simcast) & 9pm.
Im super excited for scenes with characters who have never met & the colliding of Ice & Fire.
Huge dragons, huge white walker army, huge battles, huge character moments. HBO have dug deep into their pockets for this season according to the shows sound designer “You guys are going to lose your ****”

We are very late to the GOT party and only watched S1-6 in April/May this year.

Can't wait for Monday. Although whether we stay up/wake up 2am to watch it is another matter

I'm a middle aged male, yet the excitement at pressing series link last night made me question my life.

It's just great, and I've been looking forward to this for ages.

I even watched them all again in preparation.

Im stupidly obsessed, 2AM is a must, then straight after i'll be listening to podcasts or watching youtube reviews. I'll actually feel for those who are fans but simply cannot watch the 2am simcast because they will need to avoid life untill 10pm Monday evening.

Are they putting all on at once or just one episode a week?

If it's the latter think I'll wait, avoid social media and watch all in a Sunday GOT fest!

Yep but some quite long running times, including an 80 odd minute finale. No adverts on HBO so it's a genuine 80 odd minutes of actual programme & not adverts. Also the sound designer let slip that season 8 which is even less episodes (6) will mostly be movie length every episode.

Counting the minutes, cannot wait. The fact that at this rate Mr Martin will be shuffling of his coil before he ever gets around to finishing the saga, just adds to it, as unlike previous series no one has a clue where its going.

Yeah, another 44 year old male who is far too excited for a TV programme. I'm sure it's going to be absolutely amazing.

I just hope Tarks is gong to be in a slightly more advanced role where he can properly support John Snow. Any deeper and the White Walkers will just pick him off.

I think the excitement is confusing me somewhat. Maybe.

I will always resent the fact that they delayed airing it until the summer just to prevent me from posting spoilers on the supporters forums of other clubs.

Nothing comes close to The Sopranos though

SKY box sets if it's still on. If not, they'll add it again fairly soon. Alternatively it's on KODI.

Quit your bullshit and evasion and just explain your opinion. What is different about seasons 5 and 6 that offends your anti-SJW politics enough to mean you don't want to watch a completely fictional TV show?

Can't remember really, just remember getting fed up with all the little panders to feminists and the overall drop in the quality of the show. They are putting Ed Sheeran in it this year, tells you everything you need to know about the shows change in fanbase from what it was 5 years ago. Slowly turned into normie crap as it got more popular.

The fact that ******* kaleesi can just start leading random factions of dothraki and blood-riders just because shes "muh strong female lead" totally ignoring the fact that these people are full blown raping, pillaging savages and are consistently portrayed as such in the books. She even started smugly smack talking a Khal in front of his own subordinates and didn't even get a slap.

That horrible scene with Yara "I'm gonna fk the tits off that one" ... blatant attempt and being edgy and pandering to the LGBTQ crowd, totally unnecessary and made the whole scene awkward.

That god damn terminator 2 style scene with Arya and the Waif.

Literally every Danni scene is a feminist wet dream since about season 4 onwards and shes just painful to watch now. Just a sequence of "im a smug, strong, independent woman and I get exactly what I want" scenes. Armies just literally flood to her without having to do anything what so ever.

And non-related to the SJW theme but that scene with Ser Arthur Dayne, giving him a freaking duel weild and a cringe fight scene in what should have been one of the best in the show if accurate to the books was unforgivable. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A GREATSWORD!

Wasting Dire Wolves to save on the CGI budget so they can spend more on freaking Dani scenes and those over-rated dragons. The pathetic way they got rid of Summer was just :| :|

Also Sand Snakes... just everything about them is utterly terrible in the show.

There's probably way more I've missed, can't remember specific things. Just started watching Vikings instead.

She walked out of a fire untouched by it, and she has 3 ******* dragons. They think she's a Goddess so of course they're going to follow her.
She even started smugly smack talking a Khal in front of his own subordinates and didn't even get a slap.
The time they tried to kill her? or another time. be specific.

That horrible scene with Yara "I'm gonna fk the tits off that one" ... blatant attempt and being edgy and pandering to the LGBTQ crowd, totally unnecessary and made the whole scene awkward.
So the story has an entire race of "full blown raping, pillaging savages", brothels all over the place, a boy king who tortures and murders prostitutes for fun, incestual rape, child sex slaves and the most powerful family run as a partiarch where Cersei has to take power by blowing up a Sept with over a hundred people inside, but you think it's Yara's comment about lesbian sex that is the show attempting to be edgy and that that's too much for you.

That god damn terminator 2 style scene with Arya and the Waif.
What's so SJW about that? Can't two women wan't to kill each other without it being some feminist-pandering plot?

Literally every Danni scene is a feminist wet dream since about season 4 onwards and shes just painful to watch now. Just a sequence of "im a smug, strong, independent woman and I get exactly what I want" scenes. Armies just literally flood to her without having to do anything what so ever.
Lol. You think she didn't do anything to acquire her army? She killed their masters and freed slaves and then asked the unsullied to fight for her as free men. And she has big ****-off dragons. She's not just some principled little snowflake, she has actual power over people - the Dothraki think she's a God, the Unsullied were freed by her, her citizens were to go with her principles of that terrible SJW trait of, you know, freedom.

And non-related to the SJW theme but that scene with Ser Arthur Dayne, giving him a freaking duel weild and a cringe fight scene in what should have been one of the best in the show if accurate to the books was unforgivable. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A GREATSWORD!
So? There's a ton of **** that's different to the books On account of the books each being two million pages long. From the very first scene of the very first episode things have been different.
Also Sand Snakes... just everything about them is utterly terrible in the show.
So? Hardly an SJW crime.

There's probably way more I've missed, can't remember specific things. Just started watching Vikings instead.

So to summarise:

You were quite happy when Dany was the subservient little pixie controlled through violence by her brother and and then given to a "full blown" rapist race for the advancement of a man's political stature, but now that she's leading an army who think she's a deity it's suddenly not OK any more.

Child sex, incest, rape are all OK but Yara enjoying pussy isn't. This despite homosexual characters being in the show since the third episide of the first season.
And it's OK for men to use such language about women throughout the whole series but as soon as a woman, Yara, uses that language about a woman suddenly it's not OK and it's an SJW nightmare. That's an interesting double standard. Maybe you should be asking yourself why some things are OK for men to say but not OK for women to say. That sounds awfully at odds with the common anti-SJW argument regarding race; that being that there are some things black people are allowed to say but that white people aren't. So it's kind of funny that if we apply your logic in what women in GoT shouldn't say but men can to what whites shouldn't say but blacks can we find that your argument is actually the SJW argument.

By all means complain about Game of Thrones not living up to the kind of social order you are comfortable with, but don't blame SJWs for the fact that you preferred the show when the leading women in it was oppressed and weak and now don't like it since she's become strong. Own your ****** up opinions! Don't blame others for them.

Never said I was bothered about homosexuality in the show, oberyn martell, Lawrence tyrell didn't bother me at all. Hell, Yara being a lesbian didn't either, it fit with her character anyway. It was just that scene, it added absolutely nothing to the show and was blatantly put in there simply to be edgy.

Also, funny how you try to paint a picture that somehow I just hate Dani because she isn't a defenceless, helpless woman when two of my favourite characters are Cersi and Alerie Tyrell. Dani is just a smug, entitled whiney brat who is being given everything by the writers because she's a huge sell to the SJW crowd. Simplest.

I get it. So when a character does something that feminists and SJW like it's because the show is "pandering", but when other characters do things that red-pillers like that's not a problem and definitely not pandering.

You must have literally nothing interesting to watch on TV in terms of fictionalised shows given how much you hate it when a TV show does anything with a character that SJWs might like.

And what kind of closed minded, miserable fool do you have to be to only enjoy fictional TV shows that reinforce or don't challenge your own political views?

And by the way, when has being entitled by lineage, as Dany feels she is, been an SJW trait?
