Steady signing and allows us to let Darikwa return back to league one / lower Championship, now we have decent cover at rb

Lowton is 28. Bardsley will provide stronger cover for two seasons. Tendy isn't a prem player.

Bloomin' heck, Dyche knows what he's doing. How many times were folk on here last season complaining or pointing out that Lowton was at fault for goals conceded? With Darikwa his understudy, we were left with an issue down that side.

Cover in a position we needed it.
As I said on the other thread, I'd be much happier with him than Darikwa at right-back.

Same with the Walters signing, experienced player who can do a job if needed and will be looking to push for a first team place to keep the others on their toes.

Defensively miles better than Darikwa.
If Lowton was a couple of years older, perhaps we'd be looking for more of a Charlie Taylor style signing. As it is, Lowton could easily be our first choice for 3 or 4 more seasons so would be tough to persuade and up and coming right back to sign on.

He's better than our current cover. Not one that's going to set anyone's pulse racing, but our squad improves again. No need to be disappointed with this signing. I just hope we have one or two signings left where we can say "that's an improvement to our first 11". I'd settle for one more in fact. Cork is the only one so far.

If it improves the squad which this does it means the team isn't weakened if there is an injury. More competition for the place should in turn improve the team. As long as we are not paying him a fortune and he doesn't mind being on the bench for spells I can't see a problem with it.

I think most agree that he's better than Tendy and, if nothing else, will keep
Lowton on his toes.
So squad strenghtening in this position makes solid sense.

We are signing proven premiership players and people still moan. Granted they may not be coming from the so called big teams but we are Burnley don't forget. We are getting together the strongest squad we have ever had. Good bit of business i believe.

ok, to simplify it for blackrod [as he seems to have sh1t for brains]. was he SD's first choice, second even. were they deemed too expensive for us so we had to settle for someone cheaper.
