Roll on November for LANCASHIRE DAY! Still, I have more time for Yorkies than I have for Savverners.

- and to co-incide, the Piece Hall in Halifax has reopened today after a three-year £20m restoration project.
Once dubbed the Milan of the North the 300-plus retail units in the Grade 1 listed building will now host a number of new traders, independent shops, cafes and bars.
I last went there about 20 years ago, what a wonderful building...great to see it open again.

I will be heading to the Piece Hall tomorrow on my lunch, wanted to avoid today, as I was right from the pictures the crowds would be too much to get to see much in my hour lunch.hampsteadclaret wrote:- and to co-incide, the Piece Hall in Halifax has reopened today after a three-year £20m restoration project.

Unfortunately I know some of the people behind the restoration so I am not holding my breath for anything great.

I'd not heard of the Halifax Piece Hall before. It looks impressive, like some of the large plazas in Spain or piazzas in Italy. I'll have to try and get up there to visit sometime.hampsteadclaret wrote:- and to co-incide, the Piece Hall in Halifax has reopened today after a three-year £20m restoration project.

During the early 1990's, when Lancashire were appearing in, and winning 1day Trophy finals galore, a mate of mine used to ask our Yorkshire friends how things were going at " Minor Counties North " !!
